Hello everyone, first post here.

I bought an ODROID-N2 CoreELEC Edition with 4GB back in November 2019, to use as my Kodi computer in the living room. It has run like a charm and I am very satisfied with it. I have kept it up to date (via automatic updates), and it has CoreELEC (official) 9.2.8 installed.

I am wondering if I should just stick to the automatic updates as an update mechanism, or if it would be advisable to follow the instructions here to manually download and update my box to CoreELEC 19.4-Matrix. Do all versions of CoreELEC run on all boxes? I am specifically interested in upgrading to Kodi 19. I had convinced myself that I would see major updates eventually from the system, but after more than two years that doesn’t seem to be the case.

CE 9.2.8 (LEIA) is EOL. Therefore no updates to be expected.
CE 19.4 (MATRIX) is an Upgrade, therefore you need to install it manually.
Best done as fresh install.
You may backup existing settings & import them on new system:

I know it has been some time… Today I finally managed to follow through with this manual update, and everything worked like a charm. Thanks for the pointers!
