Remote in T95Q COREELEC

Good afternoon:

I have installed coreelec g12a_s905x2_4g_1gbit.dtb
So far so good. the issue is that when I start coreelec the command does not work for me. I have put in the root of the usb the files rc_maps.cfg and t95q that are in the meson_ir_T95Q folder.

Copying these files to the root of the usb and when I start coreelec it still doesn’t work. After seeing the tutorial it is not clear to me if I have to edit the rc_maps.cfg file.

I do not know what to do now.

Thank you very much.

copy the rc_maps.cfg to /storage/.config

& the other file to /storage/.config/rc_keymaps

This is what the usb has. How do I do what you are telling me?

Thank you.

you don’t copy them to the usb, you have to do it over the network

so either use windows explorer \\ipaddress\configfiles

or I use coreftp lite

Learn some simple things:
SSH, Samba etc.

Or use a very simple, but very potent, Kodi File manager

Thank you very much.
I will take a look.

Thank you very much.

It´s better to know something about SSH.

well that counts me out :grinning:

Sure, even better to master SSH, but I don’t always have a computer by my side and SSH from my mobile is too much hassle for me. Use it only as a last resort, when Kodi for some reason does not run.
Everything else that can be done with Kodi File manager, and that is a lot, I do with ease…

If You want to create Your own remote.conf, You need SSH
There are many reasons to use SSH.
Kodi file manager is only a tool to copy files, sometimes You need more.
Try to edit /flash/config.ini to change some parameter with Kodi file manger :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, and that is the only operation the OP needs and asked for.
I try to give beginners simple answers, to solve their present problem as easy as possible, not to send them back to school.

He asked how to configure the remote.
You know about to configure power on-off by editing config.ini ?
I never want to send him to school.
I only want to inform about the basic tools he will need to use a DIY system.

No, he asked in post #3 how to COPY files that @bubblegum57 told him to do in post #2
“copy the rc_maps.cfg to /storage/.config
& the other file to /storage/.config/rc_keymaps”
