Hi all. I am at my wits end. I run CE on an ODROID N2+, accessing shares on a Synology Diskstation. All perfect for years. I recently upgraded my router from a AC86U to a BE92U. I set up the same IP on the router as before, with the same DHCP range, with my diskstation assigned to the same static one it always was. The shares are seemlessly accessible from Windows, and Plex on an Android Google TV, exactly like before. But from two CE devices (I tried my old MECOOL too), the shares are not accessible. I have searched, and tried all tips and ideas, eg NFS settings, SMB settings, even ASUS router firewall off. All the sources are inaccessible from CE. I just get ‘can’t access network, ‘route inaccessible’ type messages. I tried setting up a new source, entering the diskstation’s IP address manually. No good. Nothing works. Hint - the CE local share is also inaccessible from Windows. It just looks like CE is not being recognised on the network properly. But the CE has outside internet access OK, as my VPN has no trouble connecting.
I THINK I have tried everything. All advice welcome. Thanks.
Try turn on only smb 1 and after only after succes pairing upgrade to higher samba. I had always issue with samba at coreelec and this approach me helped.
I had a similar issue, not when changing routers, but when changing the NIC in my Synology to a 10 Gbit one. I assigned the same IP address to that NIC that was previously assigned to the internal LAN 1 port on the Synology and after that, Kodi on my Nvidia Shield could no longer access the NAS.
I solved it by adding a entry to Kodi’s advancedsettings.xml:
Thanks all. I wish I had a more helpful summary of how it was resolved, but I don’t. This is what happened:
Further issues when Diskstation GUI no longer accessible. Soft button reset not working.
Went back to old router. But problem with shares being inaccessible from CE remains.
Soft button reset on Diskstation worked. GUI accessible. All OK.
Magically, diskstation shares now available from CE. Note - when it originally occurred, I had NOT changed any Diskstation settings. Only new router setup.
went back to NEW router, and all issues magically gone.
Suspicion - Diskstation hangs on to something in network/SMB/NFS world, and that was somehow cleared (previous powering off and unplugging had not resolved it).
