I can confirm that the problem is only with the AM8, I tested the Homatics box and it passed trueHD successfully through the TV.

I sent a log but I think it is not important to the team members unfortunately

Can someone with an AM8/Pro share their dovi.ko. It can be found here when CE is booted:
/android/odm/lib/modules/dovi.ko

The one posted here is either from the Aurora 5 or the SK1. It will load on the AM8/Pro, but I’m looking for the actual dovi.ko from the AM8/Pro.

I think the one from AM8 is encrypted so external one needs to be used.

ah ok, I noticed that it’s encrypted in the firmware image on their website too. In that case can someone with an AM8/Pro boot Android and copy it from:
/odm/lib/modules/dovi.ko

Yes, it’s a copy bootet into android and copied from /odm/lib/modules/dovi.ko
i got the ‘AM8 Pro’

What is interesting is that in the HEX editor you can find usernames who compile it and the date of compile. If we could find out who, we could ask the person if they have more of them. :joy:

We’ll have to check in more setups. In mine, with a similar soc I don’t have any problem with passthrough of TrueHD. But each setup is different.

Thank you for your interest and response, my setup is very simple and I mentioned it in my previous post, AM8 directly into the TV’s E-arc port. I also don’t have an AVR, so the TrueHD doesn’t make any sound

When I tested the homatics, it worked great

You’re mixing basics!
I’ll tell you for the second time now!
Your tv won’t play True HD sound.
Your earc hdmi suppose to be connected to avr/soundbar. It won’t help if you don’t have any of the above. The only way to hear sound from your am8 connected to sony xr is to transcode to dd+.
Doesn’t matter which hdmi you’re gonna use.

You are wrong, trueHD works on android tv and the info window reads that, but the problem is only on coreelec, with homatics box trueHD works on both

The other boxes are simply lying. There is no True HD within Android whatever it displays, and the Homatics is just passing DD+ but displays True HD.

What you mean?
Homatics passtrough the truhd with Atmos, the dts-x, the dd+ atmos with kodi under ATV 12.
And dd+ atmos in streaming apps under ATV 12.

Of course all this format passtrough correctly in CE too.

So you mean a TV set under ATV is playing lossless Atmos with Kodi with it’s own speakers? If so, my bad.
