Hello.
Is there a chance to get the Bluetooth Remote on Minix U8K (with Bluetooth Dongle ASUS USB-BT500 / RTL8761B Chip) working?
For now it is just connected but the Keypad doesn’t work.
Thank you.
Should someone tell them (not in the forum but via some direct connection) of the findings proving this?
I think you must disable the internal BT chip when using a USB dongle receiver.
Run systemctl mask rtkbt-firmware-aml
in a SSH session and reboot.
Then pair the remote again.
They’re aware of all the work done in S922X-J an the rest. Amlogic doesn’t provide a FEL compatible dovi.ko. Only old kernel has it.
Thank you,
Now it doesn’t find any or the new Bluetooth dongle…
on a scale 1-10 with the current knowledge Team CoreELEC posses, what are the chances you get FEL working on S298X? within a year from now
Which part of this you don’t understand "Amlogic doesn’t provide a FEL compatible dovi.ko". Without it chances are 0 (zero)
Turn your attention to Amlogic and ask them to provide you with necessary dovi.co, to speed things up
I thought Team CoreELEC have said to be working on getting FEL support onS298X for over a month now?
you’re two statements are contradictory , first statement implies you have zero chance , second statement implies you need dovi.co to speed things up.
anything times 0 is still zero. saying you need dovi.co to start working on FEL would be more appropriate but again I’m sure I’ve heard countless times it’s being worked on
Hello,
It shows up in systemctl list-units
as: crg-xhci\x2dhcd.0.auto-usb1-1\x2d1-1\x2d1:1.0-bluetooth-hci0.device
but not in CE settings.
Thanks, give up on that…
did: systemctl unmask rtkbt-firmware-aml
to go back to “normal”
You misunderstood my saying that until Amlogic provides needed file, CE chances are zero to implement FEL in S928x.
Meaning, go pester Amlogic to provide necessary file so CE can make FEL possible in S928x.
With what we know from informal talks with some vendors it’s probably 0,5.
So the current projected roadmap is keep supporting FEL on ng and get DV support (except FEL) on NO.
Just to add something, the support for FEL on S905X4 was possible because some “older” S905X4-J still had the 4.9 kernel. The chances of having such a device with S928X-J are zero.
The only hope is that Amlogic changes its stance but they didn’t do it for any vendor (premium or non premium)
On a scale 1-10, what is the chance that the dead horse will come back to life?
I meant that it’s not hardware restricted, but maybe there is something related to how Dolby feels about things that is not public information and that’s why the old kernel is (currently) the last one with extensive DoVi support.
thank you.
Tim_Taylor zero chance
Sholander seems like theirs no hope asking Amlogic, that’s a shame, would like more performance
Yes, I think this service is need for both.
I know how to handle it manually:
bluetoothctl
list
select <MAC of USB dongle>
But I am not sure if this persist after a reboot.
Maybe the Linux “bluez” Bluetooth stack driver will work in the future.
Just wait and see for now.
The working IR codes on A3 (thank you Portisch for the remote.conf in AmRemote) can operate the machine good enough in the meantime.
It’s a bluez open issue since 1-2 years…
Yes, I know, but implement the needed driver on an CE “MINIX U8K Build” would mean too much effort, even if Minix is providing the driver to CE.
