For now, nothing replaces the higher AML SOC from the current gen S928X-jk.
comparison of those two,
S905x5 VS x5m
S905x5m
loses some features & H266(VVC) decoding capability.
Features like, No support for USB3/PCIe.
4GB ram is the maximum can be configured with the X5M SOC.
It utilises weaker A55 cores, the A510 is much closer to A73 cortex and behind A76.
I can see that later the S905x5 is the highest AML SOC will get the big G certs with DV/Audio licenses and that’s where it gets its strong value and selling point. The vanilla variant with higher price tag is kind of meh
