[SOLVED] Stuttering with IPTV

My provider is init7 and provides for its customers a stream. This stream is pretty good (mostly HD). Unfortunately, it is pretty stuttering with coreelec. It is like as if the refresh rate is wrong. So i checked the flag “adjust display refresh rate: on start/stop”. Did not help.

The video plays about 2-3 seconds (just a bit too slow) and then is for 1-2 seconds faster than the previous 2-3 seconds. Then the next 2-3 seconds are a bit slow and the next 1-2 seconds are faster than they should.

Any ideas?

Without logs and any info about you box nobody can help…
If to use crystal ball and you have s905w box than you can try to disable deinterlace in settings.

I tried to upload it here, but it did not work. The text was too big, so i uploaded it to pastebin. Hope thats ok

You are playing 50 fps movies at 24fps. Most likely your display device doesn’t support 1920x1080 50Hz.

You need to set GUI to 1080P 50Hz.

It is an LG OLED C7V. It should be able to play fullHD with 50hz. At least thats what the manual says: https://www.lg.com/ch_de/service/service-produkt/lg-OLED55C7V - page 9, “other connections”:
Support 4K @ 50/60 Hz (4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0)

I will try to set the GUI to 1080p@50hz

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c7-oled says it supports:
“1080p @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 : Yes
1080p @ 120Hz : Yes (native support)”

I do not understand why i should try it with 50hz in the GUI. I will try it, but i would really like to understand it. Can i somehow set it to 60hz too?
If you have some time maybe to tell me?

Thanks in advance!

I set it to 1080p and it automatically set it to 60hz, now it works, thanks!!
But i am wondering what will happen when i watch a 4k movie

You should use 1080p 50Hz if your TV broadcasts are in 50Hz/25FPS. This way you don’t get constant refresh rate switching when going into full screen mode. Just a convenience really.
There’s very little, if any, difference to the GUI feel between 50 and 60Hz. So I keep mine at 50hz due to TV.
Playing a 50Hz video at 60Hz refresh rate, you’ll get stutters too.
If you do have automatic refresh rate switching enabled, then it will be ok.
For 4K it should switch to 3840x2160 @ 24Hz (for most movies and TV shows)
