There’s nothing in the log but the system hangs for some time, then reboots.
I tried to cut the beginning of a big video (with dd). It seems to be enough to recreate the crash so here you go: https://public.nbg01.v10lator.de/example.mkv
This is with CoreELEC 9.2.4.2 ng on a LePotato.
I tried your sample on Android phone Kodi and CE with S905X3 no crash, no issues.
I tried the sample on y S905X2 and all I got was about 2 seconds of audio and then black screen but no crashing.
I did notice that the media info showed the length of the file as being 1hr 56m, which obviously is not the case.

Check your core temperatures. Could be a cooling issue.
Thanks for your replies. System is actively cooled and reaches around 50°C max, so I don’t think that’s an issue.
I also don’t think it’s some kind of brownout: The SBC is connected to a 5V 12 A power source.
So I really think it’s a software and not a hardware issue. Will check my addons soon.

As the original video is over 40 gb in size (I just cutted a few mb from the beginning) that’s expected behaviour.
I had the same problem - random reboots at random videos. Nothing in the logs.
The root cause was the power supply - suddenly no voltage for few seconds and then back.
I don’t get that behaviour on any of the clips that I extract from larger sources.
The info always reflects the actual length.
Cut with dd (unchanged header) vs. cut with mkvtoolnix (new header calculated)?
This was not cause by any addon and updating to Kodi 19 Matrix solved it. It’s also solved by disabling hardware acceleration on CoreELEC 9.2.5 but it’s a slideshow that way.

//EDIT³: Was able to extract/demultiplex the hevc video from the mkv file: It crashes kodi, too, so it’s not MKV but HEVC related. isabling hardware acceleration helps here, too, but is way to slow.
