I have found the SpeedTester in Kodi repo does not work with CE.
Kodi repo version is 1.1.2 + Matrix
The same author has released a 1.1.3 + Matrix version that works ok in CE.
I found it last year in their github and posted up in the Kodi forum’s but only got replies from other users that had same issue.
I tried the kodi repo version again this week but it just hangs .
I have now reinstalled the 1.1.3 version and it works good.

Note this addons max speed is limited to the max download from what ever external provider it finds at the time of test but is a good test if you want to check your box can do more than 100Mbit. etc.
I used it to find a fault ethernet cable in my house that limited streaming from one of my switches.
