For some reason I have the system cpu usage and memory used info on my kodi screen ( top left hand corner ) any ideas how I can get rid of it from screen…

You have somehow enabled Debug Logging.
Go to System Settings -> System -> Logging
Then deselect “Enable debug logging”
For me, it usually gets enabled when the remote unintentionally ends up between the couch cushions.
