While researching, I read that the only device that supports Dolby Vision FEL is the Ugoos AM6B Plus.
Would this device also work for the scenario of the first post?
Not quite true, because boxes based on the S905X4-K SoC also provide DV P7 FEL support.
You could consider the Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus.
On Android, you can use Dune’s own Media Center app which has BDMV menu support that works quite well. I would say better than Kodi, because it has better key mapping considering the limited number of keys on the remote.
And if you want to watch DV P7 FEL material, you can install CoreELEC NG on it and dual-boot to that.
Please note that the S905X4-K SoC is slower than the S922X-J that the AM6B+ is based on, so boot time and navigating menus will be slower, but while watching video you won’t notice that.
I didn’t know about this Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus.
Searching on the internet, it has a similar price to the Ugoos AM6B Plus.
I think I will buy Ugoos AM6B Plus, or is there any other device you can recommend me?
Are you able to open the OSD or play/pause and other operations while playing any content through the BDMV menu?
It looks like the traditional way of clicking the OK button doesn’t work while playing this way. Can anyone help on how to map the BDMV playback options to the available remote buttons?
I’m using the Dune APP.
Just use the UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT and CENTER/OK buttons from remote control.
Some Dune APP buttons will appear (the video continues), then you’ll have the option to go to the Blu-ray menu.
