I’m encountering an issue with Dolby Vision support on AM6b+ connecting to Hisense E7N. Can anyone help have a look? Thanks.
Here’s what I’ve discovered so far:
I installed Kodi on the TV and it supports Dolby vision. Dolby Vision is listed among the supported HDR types in the system information, along with HDR10, HLG, and HDR10+.
However, when I installed the latest CoreELEC nightly build on the AM6b+, I found that Dolby Vision doesn’t work. It’s not listed among the supported HDR types in the system information, which only shows HDR10, HLG, and HDR10+.
I’ve tried resetting the TV to its factory settings and experimenting with every HDMI setting option, but to no avail.
I connected AM6b+ to my another TV using the same HDMI cable and Dolby Vision works properly.
Could anyone please check why Dolby Vision doesn’t work? I’m happy to provide more logs if necessary. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The Rx don't support DolbyVision
When you have installed CE, have you copied dovi.ko file to the root of your flash drive? In Settings/System, do you have any Dolby Vision-related options in the bottom tab?
L.E. NVM, you have said you had already connected it to a different TV and it worked…
Yes, I have copied dovi.ko. The installation of coreelec should be good as the box works with another TV. It looks like there is a compatibility issue between AM6b+ and TV. Not sure if it can be figured out.

The Supports YUV422 12 bit is interesting though, this tv may actually support the far nicer emp mode of sending dv metadata rather than embedding data in the top pixels - which may not have yet been tested…
It’s a Hisense E7N, which is sold in China. I have tried all the options related to picture and HDMI settings on the TV, but to no avail. I don’t have other TV box or Blu-ray player; I’ve only installed Kodi on the TV, and Dolby Vision works with it. When I play a Dolby Vision file on Kodi, the TV recognizes that it’s playing a Dolby Vision file. However, if I play the same Dolby Vision file on the AM6b+, the TV only recognizes it as HDR content.
I have tried all of those options, but unfortunately, they haven’t worked out. I’m feeling quite frustrated. In another thread, I saw that the NG build is too old and cannot parse some EDID. Ugoos AM6b+ no Dolby Vision through Denon AVR - #16 by Portisch
Try this
Not sure if CoreELEC is on SD Card/USB Drive/dual boot internal?
Remove CoreELEC from equation and boot Ugoos up and check these settings.
To prove cable is not issue and Your TV will Display Ugoos Dolby Vision.
In Ugoos Settings go to
Device Preferences
Display
Screen Resolution
Color Space Settings
HDR policy
Make sure is set to Adaptive HDR
Also in Display move down to Dolby Vision
These are my Settings
Dolby Vision enable with low latency
Always on (Force always set DV mode(independent by content) is Enabled
Your TV should now flag as Dolby Vision when you hit info.
Test the Ugoos ui with Dolby Vision playback file
In Ugoos Settings, turn on system bars/ Show status bar enable
Should see Dolby Vision 422 12 bit
If all is good
Power Down Ugoos
Reapply SDCard/USB Drive
And Boot CoreELEC
See what happens
*** When Testing NEVER HOT PLUG HDMI CABLE
Always Power down Device/Ugoos
Remove barrel connector fron DC Input
Thanks @freddy . It’s dual boot. I rebooted the box into the Ugoos OS. On my Hisense TV, there is no Dolby Vision option under the Display settings. Then, I connected the AM6b+ to another TV (a TCL model) using the same HDMI cable, and the Dolby Vision option appeared under Display settings. The issue seems to be that the AM6b+ is unable to recognize that the Hisense TV supports Dolby Vision. This problem persists both in CoreELEC and in the Ugoos system.
Then when you boot to Ugoos Android do as @freddy sudgested:
c/p from his post:
In Ugoos Settings go to
Device Preferences
Display
Screen Resolution
Color Space Settings
HDR policy
Make sure is set to Adaptive HDR
Also in Display move down to Dolby Vision
Dolby Vision enable with low latency
Always on (Force always set DV mode(independent by content) is Enabled
Now when you reboot to CE it should be in Dolby Vision mode.
I did, but when I connnected AM6b+ back to the Hisense TV, there is still no Dolby Vision in CE and the Dolby Vision option disappeared under the Display settings in Ugoos system. I tried to play a dolby vision file in CE, still can only trigger HDR on the TV.
I would anyway try with a different ultra high speed HDMI cable on different HDMI input ports on your TV.
For me it just does not compute that DV works with internally installed Kodi, but not over HDMI input.
Maybe you can try with another box to rule out AM6B+ incompatibility…
