Hi All, so I received my AM6B+ device, installed coreelec from a USB via SSH and everything was working fine - for a day.
I now have no video signal at all. The device turns on and I can SSH into it but no video on multiple TVs and different HDMI cables. I’ve tried the recovery button with the USB back in it, without the USB, no difference. The light is on green for a second when it’s turned on but then goes red.
If I hold the recovery button in for about 20 seconds the light then goes white, but still no video signal. Is there anything else I can try or is the device totalled?
Also does anyone know, if it’s totalled and I need to return it to aliexpress, does having coreelec on it invalidate anything? Is there a way to completely remove coreelec via SSH?
Thanks in advance. I thought this device would allow me to retire my Shield and whilst I appreciate any device can be faulty, it does not fill me with confidence about the reliability of the AM6B+.
Looks like your HDMI output is toasted… Do you have any analog picture signal from 3.5mm AV out port? Did you try with any other appropriate Power adapter (12V 2A)?
Thanks for the reply. I don’t have another power supply to try but I had not thought about the 3.5mm port. I’ve just ordered a cheap adapter and will test that on an older TV. I guess if everything works ok using that then it’s a fried HDMI port like you say.
If there is no video via 3.5 mm AV port, then the cause can be completely messed up boot files which can be repaired by flashing new Android image via “USB Burning Tool”
No, OTA update is to be done when you have working Android installation. You need “Android 9 firmware v.0.5.4(n) for AM6 Family”. This is an image file to be used with mentioned “USB Burning Tool”.
Quick update. I tried using the analogue video port and I got nothing from that either. I used the USB burning tool and copied over the firmware, that completed without errors but again I get nothing from HDMI or analogue. It’s weird because when you plug the HDMI cable into the TV it asks if you want to switch to that input, so it’s like the TV knows something is connected, but no video is displayed. Think I’ll get it replaced. Thanks again for your help.
