I have installed the 2.0.8 firmware update and am running the latest Nightly build. Happy to report that everything seems to be running ok so far.
I have two Ugoos AM9 devices.
One of them has been experiencing unexpected restarts since day one.
From firmware version 1.x to the latest version 2.0.8… but honestly, now with version 2.0.8, the restarts happen much less frequently than before with earlier versions.
The last 3 firmware versions have “fixed several system crashes,” but apparently these fixes didn’t solve the problem on my device.
On the other Ugoos AM9 device – zero crashes.
I need to find Ugoos support and ask how I can participate in solving this problem…
You are talking about CE restarts or Android restarts?
If CE then maybe you installation is just broken and make new setup?
This is full device reboot.
I flashed new CoreELEC on another SD card few times already - the same result, so I’m ruling CE out as the root cause.
And there are no kodi crash logs file created, so it’s a pure device crash originating from firmware.
I can see that receiving on my phone notification from the router:
and then new kodi.log is created.
Try to switch power supplies between devices.
Or/And disconnect any additional usb devices that can consume energy.
No USB devices in both boxes, but I will swap power suppliers - thanks for the suggestion.

I know for sure that there is no DV/Fel support for AM9 under CE 22.0 NO..?
The non PRO not, no. No Dolby Vision at all.
i flashed CE no nightly to an usb stick (the generic img), executed “reboot to CoreElec” → “First reboot”, but i still end in the boot menu (where i can select fastboot etc.). Does that in general work? Because then it must be the usb stick. Or is this not implemented and only sd card supported?
Could you please tell me if you’ve tried swapping power supplies between devices? Did the problematic device stop rebooting?
No, but to my surprise, it stopped restarting when I selected “None” as my screensaver in Kodi. I previously had the Digital Clock Screensaver add-on enabled, but I don’t know if that particular screensaver was causing the restarts.
Why are you asking? Do you experience restarts as well?
Yes, I’m also having the reboot issue. The forum I read suggested the problem was with the power supply and replacing it solves the problem. I bought a different power supply myself, and indeed, there haven’t been any reboots for several days. I was looking for further confirmation from you whether the power supply is to blame. If the problem returns, I’ll check the screensaver option.

I would like to ask you to check whether Kodi also restarts on your Ugoos AM9 when trying to display a photo.
In my opinion, high-resolution photos with a large file size - above approximately 50 MB - cause Kodi to crash under CoreELEC.
Displaying the exact same photo in Kodi on Windows 11 does not cause a crash.
Kodi restarts on my Ugoos AM9 running the latest CoreELEC Nightly Build 20260831, but no “kodi_crash” file is created.
The JPG file is stored locally on the microSD card in the “Pictures” directory.
However, attempting to display the same photo when it is stored on an NFS share, to which the Ugoos AM9 is connected via a 1 Gb network connection, also results in Kodi restarting.

Since this doesn’t cause Kodi to crash on Microsoft Windows, is it worth considering investigating and fixing this issue?
I opened it with the Ugoos SK1—it opens without any issues. There are no Kodi crashes.
So, if Kodi doesn’t crash on the Ugoos SK1 with CoreELEC, but crashes on the Ugoos AM9 with CoreELEC, then to me it looks like hardware-specific issue.
Since this is a forum thread dedicated to the AM9, I’d also like to see reports from other users who owns AM9 with latest CoreELEC with Kodi 22 Beta-2.
