I more and more think this both Ugoos threads should be just locked because they are more and more useless. Are you even familiar with CE images? All the DTB’s supported are available in device_tree folder after USB stick or uSD card is created. If you don’t understand this basic things why are you even trying to boot unsuported device …
OMG, you have image from 19. january 2025 ???
Do you know when support for this SoC come into CE-22 nightly? Hint: 1 month back!
I’m out of all this discussion. And maybe from more. So much wasted time.
I tried nightly version with s905x5m dtb, still same error,
The log level=1,probably thats why not so much information in console, any clues how to increase log level to 7?
I think it’s enough for now.
Team CoreELEC will receive samples hopefully soon and we can try to get support than.
Thank you for your contribution.
Locked till support is given.
https://youtube.com/shorts/ErIKWc6xQfA Tested CE22 on x5m pro,no DV output,but CE works.
Of course no Dolby Vision ?
Why would you think otherwise?
I was hoping it would be possible in a future DV output.
The SoC is not licensed…
So its Hopeless
Seriously? Can some of devs confirm that DV output is not possible with this soc at all?
Amlogic processors need to have a suffix to be Dolby Vision licensed, such as -j -k
Indeed, like this one here.

I know the J/K suffix is generally a thing but as best I can tell the Walmart onn 4k plus S905X5M SoC has no suffix and yet it is DV certified.
It’s a shame the bootloader is locked, that would be a great device running CE given its low cost.
But yeah if the device isn’t DV certified from the beginning there is nothing CE is going to change about that.
All trusted venders have legit proper SOC with J/K suffixes including Onn (Walmart), if not included in H/W specs it’s already written as DV capable device. With the exception of some “illegal?” fake media players like (CSMC)
Yes, CSMC fake DV.
They extra hide and encrypt it as it’s a license violation to use Dolby Vision on non licensed hardware setup. I don’t want to know what happens when Dolby Laboratories get info about such violation…
Why all pay for Dolby Vision when you just can fake it? I think this becomes fastly to an end when it becomes more public.
Like as small example we know AML just have some “items to discuss” with Dolby Laboratories. And there it get talked about millions of dollars…
