USB 3 sticks which boots

I need to buy few USB sticks for CE to boot from Android devices. From past experience I know there are some which just doesn’t work because of poorly implemented xHCI in u-boot bootloader.

That’s why I’m colleting some information which one do you use. I would kindly ask to provide exact model and maybe link to some website, read/write speed, …

I use several Sandisk Ultra Fit SDCZ430 32-G on several of my devices without any problems.

Seems we have different experience: I have 32G and 64G SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.2 Flash Drive SDCZ430 and it does not boot on any device I tried.

I bought it especially because of small size. That’s why I’m still in search.

I’ve also had problems with the SanDisk Ultra Fit drives both 64gb and 128gb seem to be hit and miss.

I’m currently using the 64gb version of these Fusion USB 3.0

Not quite as small as the SanDisk but at least they work reliably.

Strange, all 4 of mine boot AM6B+, Odroid N2, Kinhank G1 and Nokia 8010 without problem…; will not suggest it to any one any more

Interesting that you mention Nokia 8010, because I have Homatics which is basically very similar device, and it doesn’t boot there. One posibility is that there are different revisions of the sticks and one works and others doesn’t.

This is ONE of the sticks that I use and it works great. I like the small form size. I always run a speed test on all of my memory cards and sticks.

PNY - 128GB Elite-X Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drive
Writing speed: 33.4 MByte/s
Reading speed: 144 MByte/s

Right now I am using this one on my Dune HD Homatics box:
SanDisk 128GB Ultra Fit USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive

Edit 2: I use this Windows app to run the speed test. h2testw_1.4

I use this one. They’re much more stable in terms of write speeds and don’t get hot. The small Sandisk flash drives get way too hot; you can’t touch them anymore after half an hour. I’ve already had four of them burn out.
