Do you know if there are any difference in the video decoder between the two chipset family? I mean in terms of capabilities/quality delivered

Pretty much they both have the same video decoder capabilities/quality.
However. If you plan to watch a lot of HDR content on a TV that can’t display HDR content then the S905X3 will be better since there is a bug in the HDR2SDR feature on the S922X. This is not an issue if you have an HDR capable TV. It you plan to use a streaming services or content that can’t make use of the hardware decoder anyways, such as netflix, then the S922X is the better option, since it can effortlessly software decode 1080p content due to it being a significantly faster SOC.
