Videos Randomly Crash

I’ve been having videos (All played on local LAN from my server) randomly crash. The screen goes black and audio stops, after about 20-30 seconds it reverts to the homescreen and I can continue playing the video (It manages to save the resume point). The videos are mostly 1080p MKV’s and a few MP4’s. But it happens randomly so its not a specific type of video affected. The device does not seem to reboot as I never see the boot process.

Latest Kodi log and settings:

The time the crash occurred was around 21:24 and it is not in the current Kodi log, it starts a new log file each time this video crash occurs. Below are the errors from when the crash occured with debug logging on. I suspect it might be an issue with the wifi dongle losing connection.

Please update to the latest stable or nightly release as 9.2.1 is quite old now.

Thanks, got the update this morning so I’ll test for a few days

Unfortunately still had the issue occur last night, the wifi dongle is Edimax EW-7811UTC (
Realtek RTL8811AU).

My older dongle works fine, unfortunately it is 2.4Ghz only which means 4K movies buffer on it.
