Vim1S, New-Order, Piers, Nightly, possible?

Hi,

I have a VIM1S from Khadas, for about 6 months. No Android, no SD Card, installed via oowow. I was on the nightly 22.0-Piers nightly, and updated multiple times a week. My usage is low, and I can live with a bug or two till the next nightly fixes it.

I am currently on

  • 22.0-Piers_nightly_20241220
  • Amlogic-ne.aarch64

At some point, I noticed that nightly versions were no longer available, and the ne22 directory on relkai had disappeared. I am stuck on this nightly (not that it is affecting me much, all runs well).

From what I understand, the VIM1S will be supported going forward on the no architecture, and there is a VIM1S image there. Unfortunately, nothing I have done gives me a boot, the 20250302 image shows me the CE NO logo, and in the upper left, there is a flashing number that seems to count down from 50, when it reaches 1, there are a few lines of text about a kernel panic, and a reboot.

Summary:

  • I am on 22-ne , which no longer exists
  • I can not upgrade to 22-no (no upgrade path)
  • I can not downgrade to 21-ne (no downgrade path)
  • 22-no does not startup

Questions:

  1. Is the correct way forward for the VIM1S the NO branch?
  2. Is the nightly build unstable, or am I doing something wrong?
  3. Should I just reinstall, to downgrade from the 22-NO to the 21-NE VIM1S image?

Thank you,
