I actually tried all the things you mentioned but one (diff names for 2.4/5 networks). But as i sometimes noticed the dongle suddenly operating@2.4 before i completely turned off 2.4 since i do not need it.
I have indeed seated one port with a BT dongle that worked perfectly (finding one that worked was another elaborate story btw ;).
I removed it just to avoid interference. No change.
Also tried using a ‘extention’ to move away dongles from the device. Did not help.
Since i pretty much exhausted all means (and time) trying to get wifi work on Odroid (like BT, never would have thought that would become such an issue), i just plugged in a cable and be done with it
