After using my Xiaomi box for awhile now video playback has been perfect so far. The only issue I have noticed is when scrolling around the gui there is a lot of screen tearing as though vsync isnāt active.
@acamas125 mentioned animation glitches in a previous post, I wouldnāt say they were animation glitches, it just looks like vsync isnāt working in the gui causing tearing.

This is because of new SoC since s5 we use GBM interface instead FBDEV.
Anyone who can tell us why itās like this he is welcome.

Can I ask why the change to GBM going forward if itās just going to cause gui issues? Is FBDEV just not possible any more?
Because we are only a hobby project and nobody uses FBDEV anymore since yearsā¦
You can choose between stay with old hardware or EOL of CE or using GBM as this is available.

Re-tested with a clean install of CE-NO nightly 20251003. The distorted video playback I got (photos above) was resolved when I changed the system resolution to 3840x2160 & rebooted. Strangely, it had gone back to 1920x1080, but the videos werenāt distorted anymore.
DV works, HDR works, HDR10+ works, all good. All HD audio works, also nice. But, box is buggy, not just under CE, but also GTV. Freezes, crashes. Worse on GTV side.

Thereās no glitches with older kernel.. Tested today first build from this year.. Think Iāll dump sk1 to the bin as this is ridiculous

Those glitches are so distracting itās no pleasure at all using sk1. It feels like having old commodore running kodi now..
Umm, one needs toā¦ um, to get to a movie/show/file to start playback.
Itās actually worst on a skin Iām using.
If switched to different skin I canāt see those glitches anymore.
But this skin is actually not ready for kodi 22 and have crash after crash. Temp folder is full of crash reports.
@Portisch I wish you would finish what you started.
CE-NE is polished but got no fix for choppy video with subtitles enabled.
S7D, S905X5M was never used with FBDEV, only with GBM as only this is availble.
So please choose to not use it at all or live with it or make PR to fix it, thx!
Such a āprettyā feature is the lowest priority as there are multiple others what are more vital.

Latest nightly 20251005 completely breaks Bluetooth, my USB adaptor that was working is now no longer working.

The bt driver was unintentionally pushed.
Itās only working yet for w2 sdio chip, wifi + bt.
Use older nightly and wait for a update.

New W2 WiFi driver and Bluetooth should be online tomorrow.
Not sure if WPA3/SAE is working now.
If not it is need to be disabled again like before.

Please post your RAW EDID of the device used where the issue happen with 1080p GUI.
