Xsarius Pure 3+ 4K UHD Streaming Box

Hi all,

Curious about this one,
Posible to let CoreElec runs?

Xsarius Pure 3+ 4K UHD Streaming Box.

Thanks and Cheers!

Post more info

Most important SoC ???
Amlogic???

Quad Core ARM Cortec-A35 1.8Ghz
Android 11
2GB DD3 Ram
16GB eMMC Flash
8th Gen Advanced Amlogic Trulife Image

You didn’t indicate whether it’s an Amlogic SOC. If it is, then it’s likely using an s905y4 (A35x4 1.8Ghz2GHz, supports AV1).

Try CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-21.1.1-Omega-Generic.img.gz with the generic s4_s905y4_2g.dtb.

That’s not an offically supported box, so you’ll need to do some troubleshooting to try to get it working, if it is possible.

Oh Man, I’m getting old, all information that I forgot.

P281 is S905W

probably, gxl_p281_2g

If it supports AV1 like this site says, then it has to be an s905x4, s905y4, or s905w2.

s905w2 - 4xA35 cores @1.8GHz - s4_s905w2_2g.dtb
s905y4 - 4xA35 cores @2.0GHz
s905x4 - 4xA55 cores @2.0GHz

Based on the CPU cores and frequency, it sounds like the s905w2, use CE-NE
CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-21.1.1-Omega-Generic.img.gz

I will try it after buying a second box, any recomandations?

Depends what you need. The SEI s905x4 boxes are good general purpose boxes. They’re google/neflix certified, support AV1, all DV formats, and have strong CoreELEC support.

The s922x/z boxes have significantly faster SOCs, but are older than the s905x4 and don’t have AV1 support. The AM6+ & U22XJ are also not google/netflix certified, and use Android instead of AndroidTV.

The 2nd gen FireTV Cube has all the streaming app certification (Widevine L1, Playready, Netflix) same processor as the Am6+/U22XJ. Can be found for 1/3-1/2 the price, but has to be bootloader unlocked (possible on any new/sealed unit). It’s also limited to one USB2 port.

All the above boxes support Dolby Vision FEL if you care about that. Then there are the newer s928x boxes. The s928x has faster single core performance than the s922x/z, but slower multicore performance. They support AV1. There are a number of these boxes that support DV, but none play DV FEL. Also none of them are google certified and all use Android (not ATV).

check out this the recommendation thread.

S905X4 does not handle VC-1 on those older Blu-ray remuxes if that’s important to you, alternative is to find a hevc/x.264 blu-ray rip, some are good quality others worse than the VC-1 remux, about AV1 I don’t think it won’t matter for Blu-ray remuxes, I only noticed on YouTube.

I have the both AM6B+ and Homatics box R 4K+, tried both and sure they both work well, but ultimately I’m now using the AM6B+ as it gives me the best total experience for remux files and also overall speed/performance, for Android I replaced the stock Android with slimBOXtv as it uses Android TV but I only use it for IPTV and SmartTube as I’m not using streaming services, but if certified Android TV and chromecast support is important then go for the Homatics box R 4K+, I have it as backup at my parents so they use it now in case I would need it in future.
