Alternatively, could a generic image like “s4_s905y4_2g” work? Probably yes, but the real question is: will there be significant issues after flashing?
I am aware that I am asking about a device that hasn’t been tested yet.
Interesting question! The specs on the Zgemma Y1 look promising. A generic image like ‘s4_s905y4_2g’ might work, but testing could reveal potential issues post-flashing. It’d be great to hear if anyone has tried this or has insights!
Being a Chinese contraption, and knowing their decent production of Satellite receivers, I’d not be so sure; I’d give it 50:50 chance.
Maybe an email asking if it can boot from uSD would help, or just asking if their bootloader is locked…
I tried, but with no success.
From recovery, I can’t do anything; there’s just an option to boot Android. I tried using ADB, connected with a USB cable on front USB port, but Windows does not recognize any new device (USB Debuging = enabled).
Will try on mainboard USB port as well.
@freddy
Yes, I did that.
Using this combination, I’m able to enter recovery mode only: holding the reset button on the back while powering on.
I suspect the issue might be my SD card, which isn’t of good quality/damaged. I also tried using a USB stick in both ports, result was the same, but I am not sure if is able to boot from USB ports.
