3D Frame Packed (MVC) output with CoreELEC?

Now include the Vertex and I see the crash with FSBS.
It’s because now the TV “support” 4k to and this resolution is chosen. But it should choose 1080p24hz.

So, I tested with a base version CE19.5, updated to latest dev build from here.

I am getting the exact same result, whenever the resolution tries to switch, everything from the UI freezes. I made short videos to show whats happening. I guess, this is related to the Ugoos as it seems to work fine on other hardware?

First video shows the resolution change in Kodi itself, you can hear the UI sounds, but everything is frozen until it reverts back to 1920x1080p.

Second video shows what happens, when I start the Full SBS Sample, one more click to confirm the “preferred mode”, which you cannout really see due to the frozen UI. My TV detects, that something changes to 3D, but the UI is frozen on top. You can hear the sound, so the video is playing. You can then hear me navigating to the stop button blindly to stop the video and return to the (now completely messed up) UI. The messing up of the UI also happens in the current nightly for all non-MVC 3D-files, so thats not new :-).

As said previously, I am using a Ugoos AM6B+ (S922XJ) in combination with an LG E6 TV.

@Portisch: Would logfiles help? If so, what do you need?

And as mentioned before, I am more than happy to ditch Full SBS support, if we can keep MVC ;-).

2nd video due to new user limitation in posting here^^

I dont think it should choose normal 1080p for FSBS? It should do 3840x1080p (also called 1080p 3D), which is a HDMI standard defined in HDMI1.4

My screen does not have such resolution, share your EDID:

This is the rawedid-dump:

I need to rework this whole resolution choose a bit as now it choose res and switch like to 1080p24hz from GUI 1080p60. Then the stereo mode selection comes up and the resolution is chosen again.

No problem here on your 9.2.8, although gui is mess after play stops.
But I’m telling you @Portisch your 9.2.8 is a thing of beauty & should be the benchmark to code upto CE21/22.

Btw @Xenothar any instructions on how to make a 3D full SBS like this Avatar, it seems better than 1080p MVC.

@xmlcom
Is your 3D TV also 4K like that of @Xenothar?

Yes lg c6 is an e6 little sister but I’m telling you the 3d 2160p is amazing!
Btw i don’t know that film you asked earlier, if you do find out pls let us know, it seems an amazing 3d.

Yes. Years ago i had an E6 too and agree with you. Had also many problems with many 3D films. In the end I watched the Panasonic which is 1080 active and not passive like E6, if I remember well, and in the end sold the LG and welcome to Panny.
I have send today a request to you for the title of a film that you have made a short iso here, asking which film is that, I dont know it but I would like to find it.

Hi see my reply above, no lol i did not make it. Got most of it from here:https://kodi.wiki/view/Samples#3D_Test_Clips.

Ahhhh. OK… Pity cant know which film is that. Would make some research possibly. Thanks.

Btw have you tried @doppingkoala DV on your x96plus? You will be amazed to get DV on that.

I have never done it myself, but have read up on it before.

Its essentially a two stage process, first you need to have a decrypted BD Disc (I guess BDMV and/or ISO) or MVC-MKV (both can be easily obtained with MakeMKV) and then use https://www.videohelp.com/software/BD3D2MK3D.

It is a reencode though, so you can lose quality depending on your settings and it might take a while, but the tool can essentially convert MVC into any half/full format of TAB, SBS, FS.

New CoreELEC user here, just got the Ugoos A6B+ going with Kodi 21. Loving it!

I Google’d MVC playback and have been catching up on this thread.

I’m excited to see it looks like developers are closing in on solving/adding 3D playback! I have a few hundred Mkv and Iso rips that I’ve been using a Z9X for with my Awol 3500. Looks good but I’m excited to leave that clunky gui behind and move on to Kodi with CoreELEC!

So newb question, I tried downloading the dev tar update from a few days ago, but upon installing it froze my ugoos and I had to revert back to the latest nightly. Is that because I’m on Kodi 21 or did I miss a step?

Hey Mozy,

no that should work in principle. I tried updating to the latest dev build in this thread from CE19.5 and from the latest nightly CE21. One thing you need to be careful with: Set CE to 1080p for the GUI resolution before updating, else you get flicker and nothing works. At least that happened to me when it was set to 4k prior to updating.

Hi,
I’m following this thread with huge interest and respect to the work done on this as 3D is only thing I’m missing from my current CE box. Unfortunately I had no luck to try this.
My box is NOKIA 8010. I have installed stable CE21 NG. Wired network didn’t work but wireless was working. After update from this thread latest devel wireless stopped working completely so I can’t access files over network.
I have a questions. Will this eventually go into NE (NO) builds also afterwork is completed on this feature?

And if anyone have suggestion how to make network work on my NOKIA 8010 box for this devel version please let me know.

Thanks.
