3D Frame Packed (MVC) output with CoreELEC?

Sorry, I did not check with mediainfo.
This new sample is 1920*2160 in mediainfo.

I solved it already by using heigth / 1080 so like 2072 / 1080 = 1.9185185185185185185185185185185

And now FTAB looks ok.

Thanks @Portisch brilliant work as always, will this be in new test build?

Could someone test Avatar (2009) ~ 10mins for macro-blocking/stutter. Amlogic 3D implementation cause some films like Avatar, Gravity macro-blocking.

Thank you.

True. This is an old problem and Amlogic never solved it.
I also use a zidoo X9S and no problem of macroblocking.

I have no idea what you talk about

There are reports that the Vero suffers from macroblocking when decoding some 3D content. That development team blames it on a bug in the Amlogic code. I think xmlcom is asking whether or not CoreELEC suffers from the same issue.

Then a sample with this issue must be provided, but only a short, not a whole movie…

Yes it suffers from the same issue. Example. Look in Avatar 2009 the scene when Jake exits the capsule at about 1m.35s and the man over him. The macroblocking is less tnan 1 sec but well visible.

Do you think you can post a sample?

yes give me few mins.

Avatar look at sec 38/39

Now with FTAB support:

One more example of macroblocking in Gravity Look at sec 17/18 the Earth profile

And one more A Christmas Carol. Look at Crooge’s hand when he drops the coin, look at his hand. sec 7 on.

Thanks @Portisch for your attention to 3D.

The remastered version of ā€˜Avatar’ does not have any macroblocking issues.

Good to know

I am not sure about your samples:

They are detected as block_lr frame packaging but it’s TAB 1920x1080.
So how this should work? I need to switch to ask and choose manually over/under.

If you refer to macroblocking samples, they are mkv mvc and play with preferred mode.

@Portisch This does not go into 3D mode- how to fix it?

I tested last built and Dolby Vision + 3D works so thank you @Portisch.

What issues left to fix so I can test.

Also all @ragico mk3d samples works fine here.

Re:Macroblocking, anyone have Amlogic contact, we have to ask Amlogic VSI team to fix it.

@xmlcom what is your tv model?

With proper encoded meta data, nothing wrong from ffmpeg or CE.
TAB do not report over under or over_under.

For TAB files your need to start it once, then pause. Enter player video settings and change to over/under. On next playback it will ask for the mode for this file.
You need to do this for all TAB files because there is wrong/faulty meta data included, when it’s included at all.

You still have wet night dreams?

3D is dead since minimum 2021!
