3D Frame Packed (MVC) output with CoreELEC?

3D fans, sharing this huge news if you don’t know. Turbine in Germany is releasing 9 movies on 3D Blu-ray, several of which have never had a home 3D release. Most excited about ‘Mission: Impossible Fallout’; the 3D on that is crazy good from the upconverted SBS version I’ve seen.

Bumblebee
TMNT: Mutant Mayhem
Scream 6
Dr. Dolittle
Friday the 13th
Sing 2
Mission: Impossible Fallout
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Migration

Sorry for my error.

When all goes well Amlogic-ng will support 3D playback since CE-21, 20240718.

Not sure if I missed something… :crossed_fingers:

 Thank you @Portisch finally yes , been a fun journey indeed, remember at the beginning you almost gave up but we never gave up on you because we believed in you😄

Hi, will this eventually go into NE also?

What an amazing achievement! I think you’ve implemented the last hardware feature of the S922X.

In my old X99max+ no 3d and no audio. All possible settings tried. I had to downgrade to your latest build “CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.1-Omega_devel_20240712221825” and everything work again.
Is this a problem with my box or what?
Thank you @Portisch

Thank you! Finally have the holy grail of pure Kodi media playback… full DV + full 3D + full HD audio in one.

You must check if system see if support_3d is set.
Is the Ask what stereo mode should be used is pop up or not and if MVC decoder is used. If not and h264 decoder is used your EDID does not report 3D capability.

I think you are right Portisch. My Panny is 2K 3D and does not support MVC in your latest build CE-21, 20240718. Therefore I will stay with the previous version that works perfectly. Thank you.

Do you mind sharing you EDID? It sounds as if either your EDID is not reporting 3D capacity or it’s not being interpreted correctly.

CoreELEC:/sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0 # cat rawedid

sorry for my ignorance. Is this a SSH command? Or what? Tried SSH and got no such file etc. as answer.
Any help from someone?

Thanks @Portisch, mine too is not working on a lg c6 tv on Beelink GS king-X and Minix u22-xj max. @Astrotrain is it working on yours? What your setup and those ssh cmd gave this “/sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0: Is a directory”

It should work Did you try

/sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0 # cat rawedid

You can also try

cd /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/
echo save txt ~/edid.txt > edid

get a file in home dir:

/storage/edid.txt

Ok lg c6 edid.txt:

Ssh then paste:cd /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/ echo save txt ~/edid.txt > edid

this is the reply in ssh:

CoreELEC:~ # cd /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/ echo save txt ~/edid.txt > edid
-sh: cd: too many arguments
This is the edid?

Followed @Tim_Taylor suggestion for which I thank him.

Don’t worry too much I think @Portisch will figure out the problem as it’s affecting two of us& possibly more.

No problem. I am using the previous version meantime and it works flawlessly in all 3d formats. Thank you for your kind help.
