S922X is supported in the new order kernel. NG kernel is end of life.

@rome1931 from my understanding the new order build has no working Dolby vision so it’s really giving one up for the other 
I really hope they get both 4K gui and Dolby vision working at the same time for the ugoos am6b+ it would really make the perfect device 
I also don’t care about GUI at all.
after I had to reinstall everything with my GUI scaling dv problem, the whole section is completely on standard - and I will def not change anything 
dv is working perfectly!
but, my GUI is on 4k! pls don’t tell me I should change that, because I will not have the guts
Leave it on 4k, just don’t touch (if you still have the option) GUI Scaling. That’s how I set it, and never had problems; also I don’t use Whitelist to let the box do all needed upscaling…

Would the same bug happen with CE 20.5 ng or is this specific to CE 21 ng?

Has something changed in the meantime? There are some new nightlies, but i couldn’t find something in the changelog about GUI.

No, nothing unfortunately, the disable GUI function is not available in the nightlies.
It’s the only thing I am not happy about with the am6bplus might have to get the am8 just for the 4K gui.
Sure, you can get a 4k GUI and lose Dolby Vision FEL support, multichannel LPCM, 3D.

Don’t much care about fel or 3d let’s see if the audio will be fixed soon
But having to deal with the low resolution gui really is a bummer for many people. Believe it or not.
No 4K GUI is a bummer, but no LPCM is supposed to be unfixable.

Honestly, with all these boxes there are always drawbacks here and there and CoreElec is not a commercial product (it’s better than that 
). In my POV, browsing your library in 1080p is really not a big defect. The real deal is the movie that’s playing, not the UI. I also wished that this box could do 4K UI that especially because I browse my JPEG pictures with Kodi as well and I can’t browse them in 4k for this reason…(Ironically, my Camera videos are displayed in 4k ) So I kept another box for this purpose…

That is a major flaw by Amlogic if it proves to be true. One would think that such things would be like the first things to get working these days.

Just to inform you. I had dv issue some month ago after doing something with the GUI scaling.
but after a complete new install I’m having a 3840 GUI (so not 4k! but very sharp AND DV without any problems. I haven’t touched a setting since. latest nightly. my GUI and lib looks perfect!! and the dv Pic is fantastic
I saw Kodi 21.1 was released. Any chance that this gui problem was fixed in this version?
If not, set the GUI to native 4K.
With this, the only “bad” thing is that the upscale will be done by Amb6b+ and not, your TV (which would surely be of higher quality)?
Hopefully the guys at CoreElec will come up with a solution.

This is already solved. Set GUI to 4K, and to still have TV upscale set whitelist.
weren’t there some reports that whitelisting messed DV playback in some cases? or it’s also fixed?
