I guess its hdmi handshake issue. I heard its common in sony bravia 8
I don’t have problem with other devices (uhd player and ps)
Anything i could do to fix it? Any help?
No difference in picture quality on NG / NO or NE,I have newer TCL DOLBY VISION TV.

Inchecked ugoos with android. Movies play fine there but in coreelec its problem with limit and full hdmi color and picture quality changes everytime i switch on but its got better in NO. Does it have to do with hdmi driver?
Not sure ,about driver,don’t think that’s it…
Probably Dolby Vision Settings in Sony Bravia??
Specify HDMI port and set to enhanced?,always use that port, a friend has Sony ,he says there are issues sometimes if TV is on a different input,when he turns on ,and then switch/sources/input back to HDMI port enhanced.

I have changed the hdmi port like yesterday i did. Now works fine but next power cycle it ll be same than again i have to change hdmi port

(That’s a known handshake and color-space reinitialization bug between Amlogic-based boxes (like Ugoos AM6B Plus) and Sony Bravia OLEDs — especially the A80/A90 and newer Bravia 8 models — because the TV and player briefly disagree about what HDMI format (12-bit DV or 10-bit HDR) they’re using.)
Ah, really weird, but it explains this issue then !
And for a fix, Sony needs to test against Amlogic, maybe it can be fixed and CE but not sure 
Well I found a temporary fix. Change HDMI port everyday hope it wont break port lol. its a timing sync bug. anyway thanks guys… Atleast I found out both NG and NO works fine.
I hope any of Coreelec Team have bravia OLED and try to fix bug somehow 
Just want to add one more thing When I play movies in Ugoos android . There is no such problems. I have checked it many times.

I hope that some logs (from CE build) can lead to detect what happen on this HDMI handshake.

It is not a bug in CoreELEC….
Keep in mind that Android SDK on Amlogic SoC has nothing to with CoreELEC Linux Distro
Same way Android SDK on Rockchip SoC ,has nothing to do with LibreElec Linux Distro
Iam curious is there a setting in Sony TV for HDR Priority? Can set to Dolby Vision always ,or Adaptive?
Also in Android Ugoos, what do you have HDR Priority set to ?

The HDR setting on my TV is set to Auto. On my Android Ugoos device, it’s set to Dolby Vision LED TV. After doing some research, I found that Sony Bravia TVs have a handshake issue when the device is set to 4:4:4 or 12-bit. As I mentioned earlier, the best setting for Sony Bravia OLED seems to be 4:2:2 10-bit.
However, setting it through the GUI (Force Display and Force Colour Sampling) isn’t enough; it also needs to be applied using SSH commands.
If the display shows anything other than that, it doesn’t work properly. To fix this, I created an autostart file with a full HDMI restart. For now, everything works fine. Let’s see how long it lasts, but the picture quality in both HDR and Dolby Vision looks natural and very good.
Interestingly, in the HDR settings it still shows 4:4:4 12-bit (as well as in the CoreELEC player display), but when checking through SSH, it shows 4:2:2 10-bit. So I believe this is the correct color format for the TV.
To apply the correct setting, use the following command:
echo “422,10bit,limit” > /storage/.config/disp_cap
Then confirm it with:
cat /storage/.config/disp_cap

The only issue is that I can’t apply these settings through SSH on the 22-NO build.

When i come back to android after CE. I do always have to set it to DV from LLDV. I dont have handshake problem in android.
I am thinking to get vertex2. Does it help in handshake with sony oled?

Change those settings in Android Ugoos, from my previous post,and leave them as permanent.

I have noticed when i come back in ugoos android. It reverts back to lldv. So i have to switch it back On. But movies play better in android than ce for me.
I can’t tell if Vertex2 can fix the handshake issue, but maybe like it change EDID.
That’s maybe what I’m seeing too from Android version on FireTV Stick, I have few samples that failed on CE and a movie (and surely other) when DV is enabled, it failed to start and even crash randomly.
So I did try (changing settings on Ugoos OS @freddy) and the same, drive me crazy but in fact, when I read that all is beautiful and works.
I really stop thinking it’s true, I compare about android version, I didn’t try on Ugoos OS and Kodi but in CE most sample failed, DV is crashing on some movies.
No luck, it acts like Dune so must be CE somehow partially.
Now I need to find a way to sell it and stopping to think that is the best device for CoreELEC.
I don’t even talk about FEL, but pure CE-NO.
I have obtained some sample from somewhere, some test files.
The other try I can make, but not now because past all day and this is not stable at all :
1- Is to remove Vertex2, but I will be able to get LLDV, but I will be able to test the samples.
2- Test Kodi Nightly on Ugoos OS Android 9 and look also if bitstream is working.

So for you. Ugoos android play fine dv and hdr. But u have problem in CE like me. If ugoos android works fine so there is nothing wrong in setup

I didn’t test yet with Ugoos Android (Kodi), only with CE.
But compring over Android on FireTV 4k Max (no FEL) but at least, no crash etc.
I only use ugoos android builtin player UPlayer
mp4/mpeg with DV are known to give troubles.
Use mkv with NG and forget about firestick.
Will not forget about firestick, it works better than NG
