AM6B+, DV picture to warm

Hdr and sdr is good in NO and dv is good in NG for me. Its strange.
You said you tested ugoos android that supports fev. What about cmv4 and tonemapping?
I found colors are cery natural in android than ce with high contrast in all hdr sdr and dv

In Android, It looks good to me, I mean looks stable but FEL is not working at 100% (under Kodi) but with Ugoos player (uPlayer) the sample, I have tested is OK.
I need to try again but tone-mapping looks ok, like on FireTV for not FEL sample at least and refresh rate is OK too.

When I say more stable, it’s when doing something, and I repeat the same sequence on Android (Ugoos OS) it keeps doing the same where on CE-NG, sometimes not, but not sure why and like other have none issue under CE-NG, it must be a kind of settings like on Ugoos OS, I didn’t have the same, so it’s not a hardware issue too, otherwise I will trigger the same on Ugoos OS, doing the same testing on sample.

I also face same problem ugoos android way more stable but Lacking in full dv support like you said fel and proper tonemapping. NG does notnwork good for me. Dont know why? I have tested other devices (shield and uhd player) works fine even ugoos android.
@Sebastiii i dont think so it has do any setting from android ugoos as ce has independent boot

About the setting, it’s independent but not fully, I mean, upgrade a CE-NG over CE-NO didn’t work correctly, but here we work on the SDCard or USB stick.

Some user tells to set up ā€œadaptive / Always HDRā€ and ā€œDV onā€ on the Ugoos OS for CE-NG, so if it is fully independent, it should have no effect on this.

But like said the support, we need to buy another hardware to make this working correctly and the Ugoos AMB6+ and not for us, like we run into issues that no one else has.

1000 persons are OK but one person with 1000 problems.

So, in final, must but the DV chain (TV / Projector etc.) that trigger something that no one else see.

Is probably too difficult to understand.
A lot of persons using AMB6+ running CE-NG, Holy Grail = DV FEL
There are two people reporting promlems like bad tonemapping etc. caused by the individual DV chain.

Important:
CE-NG is EOL !

Effectively, if FEL works on CE-NO, it would be nice

Even if it’s EOL, should differ from Ugoos OS for ex ? I don’t think so, I mean with the same chain of individual DV.

It’s here that, it’s curious

But I agree CE-NG is EOL so no worth to try to make working something on it where most have it working or Ugoos OS.

There is only solution i found so far in NG but have not tested in NO. When I use hdmi 1.4. I do nit have any picture quality issue but i loose atmos every now and than. Its strange. I got 2.1 and 2.0 hdmi cable

@vpeter its not solution as doing it drops atmos sound very often.

Why do you need to mention me …

Out of respect

Sorry. I saw your notification.
As 1.4 hdmi cable switch 4:2:2 in backend but shows 4:4:4 in signals. I found with search.
Anyway i use my hdmi cable 2.1 again but in hdmi settings i changed it to standard from enhanced. But drops sound every now and than with 1.4 cable. Which is solved using 2.1 cable but in standard hdmi format.
It plays movie in 4:2:2 12 bit and framerate for hdr and dv is fine in NG.
But when i set manually 4:2:2 in coreelec it distort colors which hdmi format is enganced . I leave it to auto and keep hdmi format to standard. Works for me.
But in NO as its 10 bit this solution does not work for me. Why is it?
Any solution can be provided? Devs

Well I do not have framerate nor color issue on NG anymore . Playback is smooth and tonemapping is cool. But all i have to do is change hdmi format quite often enhanced to standard which is more stable. Doing this shake the HDCP communication. which gives good picture quality. Main problem is HDCP or you can say handshake issue. I can not find if CE supports 2.2 hdcp . But the main culprit is that so far. Clearing cache of tv or changing HDMI format is temporary fix. I am sure you are facing this issue. People are right there is no framerate issue. HDCP bad communication remove the High definition efficiency from the playback content causing stuttering /framerate issue either bad or wrong color . To be honest. This issue gave me so much headache.

The refresh rate seems to be needed to avoid wrong start on DV (CE-NG and CE-NO) without it, I have issue (black or purple all screen).

But I will to do the same verification under Ugoos OS and uPlayer that handle DV and FEL (with and without RRC).

So where do you change exactly the HDMI format on your side ? (Display side right ?)

Thanks for your feedback on it :+1:

I change in the display but
You can set HDCP1.4 on vertex after factory reset it and edid on automix.
In tv setting clear tv cache while watching movie. It can fix your issue.
I had tried CE NO i dont like DV tonemapping. So, I stick to NG
Make sure you use same HDMI from player to certex and vertex to display.
First I used hdmi 2.1 vertex to tv and 2.0 player to vertex it caused color issue. Make sure use 2.0 and same cable on both end but after HDCP 1.4. You do not need to change hdmi format. But try

On the vertex side, it’s in 1.4 already, I didn’t forget that I did change that

Yes, it can speed up the hand check, but when testing back CE-NG and NO, I didn’t use the vertex, one thing less

Ok, I will try to look the HDMI setting on my Hisense DV capable and see what’s going on

Then I will test on the EPSON normal use (with no DV and then the Vertex2) :+1:

Thanks

Yes try that
Does uplayer solve your issue in android?
How do you check if FEL works fine in android player?

Use the test files in first post of thread from Yada, in Ugoos Android U Player

I’m using test files for it :+1:

Yes in Ugoos player, it works without changing anything, RRC enabled or disabled, with disabled I can see a quick blank screen to adapt mode but not the blank screen (a little longer on my Hisense capable DV where I can see under CE a message where HDMI signal is cut etc.)

So I think, it’s possible to act like Ugoos under CE but does it mean change a lot of code I don’t know and like doing debugging is not easy for noob, I mean, changing code, make a patch, copy build, update on hardware etc. is surely not the best method (and can’t be debug in real-time) under this way, so difficult to see what happen directly

On Kodi (Android), sometimes the FEL start but, it’s not handled correctly (when DV to convert P7 to 8.1 is disabled otherwise, the sample play but without the FEL level).
