Oh, okay. I had no idea, because the last time I updated my CoreELEC I was greeted with a pop-up message that Dolby Vision wasn’t available on my device anymore. I didn’t even check out if that was true or not.

i have a x96 x10
on the latest firmware with android kernel 5.4.210
i would like to use no latest nightly with Dolby Vision with dovi.no
when i boot up CE i get an error massage that Android Dolby Vision kernel module is not compatible i should update Android Firmware to minimum 5.15.137

how can i fix this ?

This could actually be the message I received as well. It had nothing to do with ucode, but it was kernel related.

CE-NO requires 5.15 dovi.ko. Download it from here, copy it to ONE of these three locations:

  1. /flash/dovi.ko
  2. /storage/dovi.ko
  3. /storage/.config/dovi.ko

reboot

Thank you for the dovi.ko file. Dolby Vision works properly now.

However, I noticed two errors:

  1. I tested some HD video files with 25FPS and 29.97 FPS, when I seek forward or backwards, screen goes black as it refreshes the frame rate.
NOTE: I have all the available resolutions under 1080p and 2160p whitelisted in the settings

  2. This is the issue that I had from the very first nightly. For SD videos and channels, I feel like the best and sharpest picture quality I can get is by not using HW acceleration for those sources, so instead, when I play those videos, under “Video Scaling Method”, I choose “Spline36 (Optimised)”, or at least I could do so on my S905X3 box.
Here, if I’m about to choose Spline36 (Optimised) or Lanczos3 (Optimised), Kodi freezes and restarts.

If you need sample video files, please let me know. Thank you.

I had a similar issue earlier. I cleared all my whitelisted resolutions and leave that bit at default now.

With the update dated 20-06-2025, SK1 does not open and CoreELEC stays in the logo.

For me, the same boot loop is problem with UGOOS AM8

Same here on Homatics r 4K plus, stays on CE logo.

I’ve tried a fresh clean install, but stays on CE logo.

Nightly update 20260620 got removed.
There will be a fix with next nightly.

If already updated wait till tomorrow or downgrade with one before 20250620:

Stuck on CE logo with latest nightly running on N2+ NO.
Will wait for new release tomorrow - do I need to manually push it to the update folder or will it download automatically ?

Thanks a lot @YadaYada, now AV1 plays perfectly.

There are some problems with choppy playback on pvr live stream, but only specific channels with 1080i/DD5.1

You’d need to post a video sample and log for any video playback issues. It’s hard to know what might be causing playback problems without that. The ucode version is only one factor that affects video decoding, what you’re experiencing may be unrelated.

Sure, here are the logs and sample:

dmesg
kodi.log with video component

samplevid

You had the right intent, but I need sample of the actual video that is causing the playback problems so that I can run it on my end to test it. Since this is a live stream, I know that is difficult, unless you know of a way to capture the video stream. I don’t know how to do this.

Sure i can provide record file from tvheadend server, but it’s flawless, no errors and playback is smooth as butter. Same streaming of that particular channel on Beelink GT-King, smooth with zero errors.
Almost sure is something on vontarx4 that is causing decoding problems when stream is 1080 interlaced / dd and only on that channel (before the ucode.bin update was on all 1080i channels).
