Amlogic-NO discussion

Ok ,i have to older Samsung that are SDR only as well

1 Tested Tanix Tx5 Plus Deluxe with latest nightly NO no issues/glitch after first boot or reboot

2 Tested X96X10 PRO S928X-J with latest nightly NO no issues/glitch after first boot or reboot

3 Tested HK1X4RBOX with latest nightly NE
After first boot or reboot, here is sequence i think you are referring to.

When boot/reboot

Android Vendor splash image (in my case slimboxtv image)

Then a very brief black and green distorted image
Its no longer than half a second/maybe 0.25 s

Then CoreELEC NE image and boots up

Is this what you are referring to as glitch/archives/distorted screen

In my case is the time 1-3 seconds.

Again: Are you rebooting between every movie or tv show so you would care for such useless issue.

With 100 and 100 issues this is really not top priority I would say.

Thanks, I tried the CE 22 NO Build on a USB3 Stick. I got same Picture as Croco and I did the second dovi.ko in the root of my stick. So now I got no error message about not compatible DV kernel module. But is it right, that CE 22 NO do no Dolby Vision Playback on my Ugoos AM6B Plus?
I was thinking, I only lost the DV FEL but so I lost all DV.

Edit: Ok, I tried this one and it worked. Thanks.

Even at 1 to 3 secs ,is it really an issue?
The average user rarely if ever has to reboot during daily use?
As long as boots CoreELEC and no issues with playback, seems insignificant

Wireless does not work on software dated 05-08-2025. Recognises wireless networks but no connection

Also, when I try to boot using Petitboot (20231220), I get the error: ‘kexec: Invalid 2nd device tree.’
Could it be that the provided DTB isn’t compatible with my unit? (It’s a unit from August 2019.)

I don’t know how petitboot works. When switch is in eMMC position it boots. But it doesn’t boot from SPI position.

My device is also very old.

No, petitboot is not compatible with CE-NO.
Hardkernel know the issue but I am not sure when it will be fixed.

You would only use the SPI petitboot position on the switch if you wanted to select a particular boot device (USB stick, external drive etc.). As @Portisch says, petitboot will not boot CE-NO. With the switch in eMMC position my N2+ will boot CE-NO from uSD card or from CE-NG on the eMMC if I remove the uSD card from the slot.

Yes, that’s what I usually do. But in my case, unfortunately, CE-NO won’t start up and bootloops on both the eMMC and the SD card. The strangest thing, if the problem is hardware-related, is that NG has always worked perfectly (and is still working from my NG SD card setup)

Have you tried removing the eMMC card and booting from uSD card (with the switch in the eMMC position)? I haven’t installed CE-NO on my eMMC yet as I still have some issues with multichannel FLAC audio, so I’m not quite ready to go all-in with NO.

No WiFi too.

Looks like a problem with connman addon? This was upgraded in latest nightly. I have reverted to 20250731.

There is also no wifi connection on my box.

Yes ,does seem to be issues
Both boxes i have running latest nightly NO, are wired ethernet.

I removed cable
I have( guest network connection) no password, it will connect/shows ready status

The 2.5 and 5.G connection with password/wpa/etc will not connect

Thankfully i have wired connection

The reason for wifi issues is connman bump. Will be reverted with next nightly.

Seems latest is not greatest :joy:

Yes, Wifi problem persists today.

Yep it does.

Same issue, no Wi-Fi.
Can you please keep atleast one previous nightly version available online?
I wanted to put .tar-file of the previous version into /storage/.update, which would probably have been an easy temporary fix?
