Amlogic-NO discussion

I’m trying to get rid of the “Android DV kernel module is not compatible” message. I just wanted to hide that warning, so I added the dummy dovi.ko file you shared into the configfiles folder. But the message still shows up.

After image 20250731 new module must be used.

thanks, the warning message isn’t showing up anymore.

why is not yet part of installation, if is only dummy file ?

And i have also one new question. How is possible change boot animation of coreeelec? I really hate current version of animation from NO. More beatiful was from NG and all from previous time. It would be nice to have possibility of choosing of animation boot. At my device is 1 second bug of freezing artefatcs screen, and maybe bad loading of current format of this animation is reason.

You can check if animation is the cause, test it with a static boot screen. Put any picture in 1920x1080 format, named “Splash.png” in .kodi\media folder and reboot.

After reboot was loaded again only dynamic animation (tryed at CE22NO and for sure also CE21NG). But i explore now that if i am going from CE21NG to CE22NO ( immediately after turn off of device AM6plus and changing SD cards with CE) so this bug is not by first start of CE22NO, but only after reboot or turn off from CE22NO. Tested three times with same result. Identical bug is also at my second device Minix u22xj.

Correct image is /flash/oemsplash.png.

Try renaming Splash.png to “oemsplash.png” (format → 1920x1080x24b) or try with this one:

Only /flash/oemsplash.png worked.

Results:

It was same with dynamic and static animation. I tried 3 different png images and first boot with new image was not 1 second of artefacts, but so 3 seconds of artefacts (if i tried run only CE22NO). After reboot or turn off was again only 1 second of artefacts. So it have impact.

And also if i changed emmc of CE21NG to sd card of CE22NO, so only first booting of CE22NO after using of CE21NG at emmc was without artefacts also with static as dynamic images. So it have considerable impact. Vice versa from CE22NO to CE21NG are not artefacts at first booting of CE21NG after using of CE22NO.

I tried also turn off tv between starts of CE21NG and CE22NO, but this dont have impact.

ce-debug_info_SD_CE22NO.txt (45.2 KB)

Also i see 2 different files for dualboot at emmc (i dont know why?), maybe also this have impact.
dual_boot_apt_backup.img (1.3 KB)

dual_boot_dtb_backup.img (512 KB)

What you are trying to achive? To eliminate short glitch when booting?

Yes.

I identificated some differents:

e.g. hdr_policy=0 and only after some linies is 1…for CE22NO, and other hand for CE21NG is always hdr_policy=1, outputmode=1080p60hz vout=1080p60hz vs. 576cvbs in CE21NG

Are you rebooting between every movie or tv show so you would care for such useless issue.

Hi,
I just installed the latest NO CoreELEC on my Odroid N2, but it won’t boot.
I get the same error both from the SD card and from the eMMC module (see screenshot).
I updated petitboot to the the latest available version to be sure (20231218).
The device keeps rebooting in a loop.
Any idea what might be wrong?
Thanks!
(the device runs perfectly on all NG versions)

It’s not possible as every vendor use different bootloader and different fbdev memory address.

You can set in Android the same CE gui resolution, maybe it helps, maybe not.
Most Android u-boot start with 4k, 422.

I tried everything. In android is also set 1080@60 hz; i downgraded color space in android from 444 to 422. This device have also support for 4k@60 hz, but my tv is not 4k (but this would be not created green artefacts, rather is fb issue). Different framebufffer memory dont have impact at other activities after booting ? FB is not set in dtb of am6plus?

Your TV /Display is not 4K???
Then should default to 1920 x1080p @60??

Is it even HDR ?
SDR?

What does system info/video/Display supported HDRt types : show??

Log from CE22NO

@mattamore: I just tested petitboot 20231218 with CoreELEC image 20250731 and it boots from uSD and eMMC when switch is on eMMC position

Same configuration here, but still the same error at boot.
Something is probably wrong with my N2 unit.
