I dont understand why you dont just try a smaller sd card and if it works use that for NO and the others to investigate the boot issues seperately or is that what you are doing. There seems to be a lot going on ![]()
thats what i am doing.
i have one SD that works perfectly fine that i use for watching tv etc., but if somehow possible i want to use the faster ones. unfortunately those fail.
Did you try to partition the fast SD to 32GB + 96GB and use only the first, 32GB, partition for CE?
no not yet, can you guide me a bit? should i use cfdisk to make 2 partitions, one 32gb and everything else for the other partition. then dd if=Coreelec.img of=/dev/sdc1 (32gb partition)?
after thinking about that… makes imho no sense, because the .img creates 2 partitions, so i guess i must use /dev/sdc (the sd) to write to, not the partition e.g. sdc1.
Wow that is an Excellent price for SD Card !!,I see there is an 64 GB for only 8 Euro…,buy one of those maybe?? ,same speed/specs..
Ok ,do you have 2 ports on desktop, or 2 micro sd card readers, can connect to Ubuntu?
Maybe try to copy/clone the working 64 GB card CoreELEC to 128 GB clean formatted/empty/non partitioned SD Card
I’m just talking out my ass here but you could write the .img to the microSD (you said you used dd), then use gparted to resize the partition that you want to shrink?
Did you by any chance get those files for the AM8 Pro as well? Or have any tips on how i could extract them?
thats a good idea, i will try that. but i still doubt its because of the partition size…
@freddy thats a good idea too, i could dd the SD to my workstation and then DD it to the 128gb SD, but not sure if thats technically gonna work (not sure if there is a norm for SD cards)
update: resized the partition with gparted, did not help, same behaviour.
update 2: dd’d the working sd, then moved that image to the 128gb sd and it boots without loop, but kodi still crashes. Its now in a “safe mode”.
@vpeter the kodi.FAILED logs: CoreELEC:~/.kodi.FAILED/temp # cat kodi_crash.log ############## kodi CRASH LO - Pastebin.com - i hope that helps in any way
There is an OTA update for AM8.
They just released the update.
tete, post dmesg too.
https://paste.coreelec.org/DisorderChauncey - but i am not sure how reasonable all this is because this is really a nasty hack i guess ![]()
I did dd if=/dev/sdc (was the working 64gb SD) of=working.img and then dd of=/dev/sdc (the 128gb SD) if=working.img, so maybe something was messed up with that, not sure if this should work that way
From kodi log there is some DRM issue. And in dmesg I don’t see anything special related to it.
But I don’t know why big SD card could be the reason for DRM crash …
i will order the 64gb version of that sd card and try again, but that will take at least one week (shipping to me is slow…
). Then i can for sure say if its really because of the 128gb.
In dmesg, what is[ firmware bug] kernel image misaligned at boot, please fix bootloader..
Harmless message. It was added to mainline linux but Android devices are using old u-boot.
Kodi does crash, not kernel.
By UART or maybe by SSH:
sc mask kodi and on next reboot Kodi should not start and log can be created.
A post was merged into an existing topic: CE-22 NO: Looking for users with no working WiFi or BT
I wonder how I can get kodi to load again.
