Amlogic-NO discussion

Extra, as all do know AVR makes mostly of issues of black screen or CEC issues, there is the EDID dump function:

The hardware settings have been configured correctly.
If I set the display refresh rate to 60 Hz in the CE display settings, there’s no problem, but if I set it to 50 Hz, the screen goes dark. Alternatively, if I turn off ā€œAdjust display refresh rateā€ in the player settings, it works.
When ā€œAdjust display refresh rateā€ is turned off and the CE screen refresh rate is set to 60 Hz, CEC works flawlessly.

Thinking that this CEC issue might be caused by the soundbar, I reported it to POLK Audio’s technical support

Wasn’t able to play 50 sec hdr video,ce crashed, seems like problem was in audio output device handshake or something.

Why you force 12bit?
[ 583.536393] [drm] [meson_hdmitx_decide_color_attr]:[2160p24hz,eotf:0,vic:93]=>attr[YUV444,12bit]

This is not a valid force mode!!!
Try again with clean install.

It was the first thing I tried. No luck unfortunately.
By the way, when I set to OFF Wake-up by * items they return to ON after reboot.

Use dumped display EDID didn’t help either.
dmesg with EDID dump function: https://paste.coreelec.org/PeachyCrabtree

Then you will need to disable CEC or change something in your hardware setup.

We have no control over the Android bootloader.

I would like to ask, is it still safe to use ceemmc -x device on older systems?
S905x3 generic device, CE21 NG, has been working fine for a long time from emmc. But this is a 32 bit system, right?
Can the old one be overwritten with CE22 NO 64 bit system?
32 bit vs 64 bit don’t they interfere with each other when ceemmc tool doing its job (copy from mSD to emmc)?
I know you wrote that ceemmc is EOL, because newer systems need the android system too.
But this is a much older box, no DV, nothing extra

Thanks Team CoreELEC and @ frodo19, update to ppi and shortcut icon when pause playback!!!

Most Excellent !!!z

where i Find the Frodo update to ppi? Thanks

It’s builded in the CE NO estuary.
.. its just small correction :slightly_smiling_face:

I tried it. Thank you. However with Display-led, Video Source shows ā€œSDRā€. Instead of FEL etc.

Thanks @frodo19. The indication of Dolby Vision profile only appears on some movies and in many it’s just Dolby Vision.

No, it’s OK for all types of dv.

Just need the update the kodi database.

Click on the movie , then rescan, scan from the live sources (internet), choose your scrapper and update.
After that, will show all the profile information.

Yes it works thank you.

I use the Jellycon client which does not interact with or populate kodi’s libraries.

I also use the jellycon client and player led DV mode. I also note that the PPI always says SDR as well. Just like en6ads has found.

@en6ads @danceden99-ops

it seems pretty obvious from the last response that the HDR information is being read from the database not the playing file
if you are not using the database then you’re not going to get information
even using jellyfin to sync it’s unlikely jellyfin will even put the info into the database

if it’s not working ā€œwith jellyfinā€ then use it normal, if it then works without jellyfin complain to jellyfin

Yes it appears so. I’m used to using another build on my AM6 that populates ppi from the playing file, not from db. I believe there is a kodi pull request that has yet to be committed that does this. If that gets merged in Kodi then hopefully we’ll have a solution.

Edit: it was this PR, committed yesterday: [GUI] Expose live A/V bitrate, queue level and extended audio/subtitle labels by CE-Repo Ā· Pull Request #28355 Ā· xbmc/xbmc Ā· GitHub

But it’s just to add live audio and video bitrates from the playing file, not other metadata from the RPU such as levels info. Maybe another request to also add these is needed.

Now ,with Kodi Keymap addon, you can have Jamal tiny ppi addon mapped.

And CoreELEC/Frodo19 ppi mapped to a different key

And compare!!

Both are accurate
