Amlogic-NO discussion

NG = 32b
NO = 64b

This issue was not fixed longtime.

CE-NG, CE-NE, CE-NO all have 64bit kernels

CE-NG - 32bit user space (Kodi)
CE-NE - 64bit user space (Kodi)
CE-NO - 64bit user space (Kodi)

CE went full 64bit a while ago with kernel 5.4 (CE-NE).

Sorry, we need to take care first for other whiny people don’t get be satisfied about we handle our free time.

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I’ve tried to look it up but can’t find a mention.

Using latest (15th) nightly and 22 beta the audio output device isn’t retained on reboot. I’m using a USB DAC and what I hear is a few seconds of audio before it stops. When I check the audio settings, I find it has set to HDMI audio. NG 21.3 on the same kit (Odroid N2+) behaves impeccably.

No logs cause I’ve decided it is easy to recreate. Shoot me and I’ll apologetically create them for you.

How it would be easy when nobody of the dev team have such hardware?

Maybe kodi is not stopped correctly. Enable kodi debug log, change audio output, reboot. After reboot post old kodi log.

Vpeter, I think what you’ve asked for is the old log from Kodi log uploader as I couldn’t see the option to do old log from CoreELEC configuration.

Here’s the log of me changing the output from HDMI multi channel to anti mode X2 and rebooting. Audio is back to HDMI multichannel.

hastebin old log

EDIT: Changing to HDMI from HDMI multichannel also gets lost on a reboot as does changing to PCM. @Portisch made a fair point but these, I hope are easily recreatable.

I basically have the same experience, with the only difference being that I use SPDIF, and after restarting the box (AM6B+), the output switches back to HDMI. Plus, even when I set it to SPDIF, the audio goes to both HDMI and SPDIF at the same time.

Tested with my setup and normal cpu usage. I would say it depends on a stream (I’m using HLS).

Looks like it’s true - just tested here from hdmi to spdif.

Thank you. Now i tried one things and i identified a reason for 100 % using of cpu. This issue is only by streams which have attributes:

#KODIPROP:inputstream=inputstream.adaptive
#KODIPROP:inputstream.adaptive.manifest_type=mpd
#KODIPROP:mimetype=application/dash+xml

Glad you’ve seen this for yourself. For daily usage I’m on 21.3 until losing the audio output setting on reboot is sorted. That said, I’m happy to test if/when a fix comes along.

@vpeter - i think i wasn’t clear enough…now USB are shutdown off when i go into Coreelec…i just want to cut the usb power only when i do shutdown or suspend ! Question : is there a reason that shutdown function timer (Menu System/Power Saving/Sleep/Shutdown) was prolong and now minimum is 15 minut, in v21 Kodi i think it was 5 minut if I remember well.

Shutdown timer is same on LE which means it was done deliberately.

For info only

Ive noticed a small difference between nighty 20260516 and 20260519. Might affect some users, might not.

Key mapping is not working for some of my keys. Easily fixed by rerunning Kodi Keymap editor addon for those keys and generating a new GEN.XML

Strangely it gives a different code number on those keys but works ok.

Have somebody build 20260519, which is not in archive ? Today’s build 20260520 have updated addon ISA.

Waking up from suspend by CEC gives ā€œNo signalā€ on the TV.
Ugoos AM6B+ → Denon AVR-X3800H → LG C8
NG works ok.
dmesg (nightly 20260519 fresh install with default settings): https://paste.coreelec.org/HamstersBeale

Waking up from suspend by CEC gives ā€œNo signalā€ on the TV

Same here. N2+ (1080p SD) → Yamaha AVR → Samsung TV.

Nobody have the idea to check CEC settings?
Maybe it helps?

:-1:

I’m having an issue with the soundbar when using CEC. It works fine at a refresh rate of 60 Hz, but when I set it to 50 Hz, the soundbar turns on when I turn on the TV, but there’s no picture.
