Amlogic-no Discussion

Should be fixed with 20240802 build. Update to latest nightly.

Get a second SD card for minix. Maybe Samsung card is incompatible, or SDcard slot has bad contact, or Android 008 incompatibility. Basically seems to boot, but Storage partition resizing somehow fails. To investigate deeper, logs are needed.

20240802 - was tested also and failed. Samsung card was used long time in this device minix with CE21ng …i saved this card after install ce21ng on emmc. Android 008 was good with CE21ng. I wrote that is missing own minix u22xj dtb without ā€œmaxā€. Why nobody check my dtb from android in compare with minix u22 max for ce22no ? You are really also sure that minix dtb is going on u22 xj max for CE22no?

My logs of minix u22xj from CE21ng:

On first partition is fs-resize.log file which shows resizing progress.
But your log also show kodi crash which means you have multiple issues and it is hard to follow them.

Logs are from CE21ng on emmc in dualboot. I found only these logs in my case of emmc install.
ce-debug_info.txt (50.4 KB)
audinfo.txt (3.6 KB)

You said CE21 is on internal emmc, and no issues - so why you share CE21 logs?

Prepare a fresh SDcard with CE22-NO, perform boot from SDcard until failure, and then provide CE22 logs (incl. fs-resize.log) from SDcard.

Because Android and -NG are old 4.9 kernel, -NO is 5.15 and has different DTB structure, so you cannot compare them easily.

OK, … i have 2 logs from same sd card samsung,… clean install. 1. from ugoos and 2. from minix for better comparing. All on ce22no - same build
fs-resize_minixu22xj.log (963 Bytes)
fs-resize_ugoos samsung.log (509 Bytes)
.

mke2fs: Input/output error while writing out and closing file system

Your card is dead or not compatible. Use different one.

On ugoos this sd card was ok. I tried now also second very old sd card with 8 gb, but there was issue with loading flash partition.

OK, … if no any other idea. I buy new sandisk sd card.

Please redo the test on ugoos with CE22 and this DTB:
CE22-NO_g12b_s922x_minix_u22xj_max_SD100M.dtb (71,8 KB)

New advancedsettings features added in Kodi22

I’ve read but don’t really get the significance of:

  • anisotropicfiltering
  • fronttobackrendering
  • geometryclear

Is there any point in users applying different values in CoreELEC NO? I’m assuming that devs have taken a look and evaluated them.

I’d be grateful for any info that this interested amateur (aka simpleton) can understand.

There a eta for this fix to be added to the code / nightly build?

Not getting any passthrough audio at all on 22.0-P_nightly_20240802
Log: https://paste.coreelec.org/SterlingThieves

edit: also around bad performance and poor responsiveness when passthrough audio is enabled. Seems fine when disabled.

Already there and DTS is restored what it was previously.
Regarding passthrough I have no idea. When it worked last time?

Don’t know. Not sure that I tested that before.

Thank you. I saw again same error
fs-resize.log (963 Bytes)
. Tomorow i will try new sd card.

Have you seen my post?

Please test CE22 with this new DTB & provide feedback.

I dont have any issue with internet in ce21ng. I dont need Internet speed sd100. And yet i tried, and also was failed booting…partition was not created

The modified DTB is for CE22, and the changes were made to limit the SDcard clock from 200MHz to 100MHz (as it was on -NG), to solve your issue with existing card.
And I think the minix box (HW design limitation) is the issue, not the SDcard.
So please retest, otherwise I’m out.
