Upstream the issue to LE and TK.
They bumped to ffmpeg 7…
Yes,I noticed. They were pretty happy with it ;).
I am sure it will be ironed out. Just reminded me why I normally don’t use nightlies on heavily used systems.
Hi guys,
i found a reason of difference of performance between 32 bit and 64 bit on AM6plus. The reason is bad default frequency of cpu for aarch64. Also differncies are in sum of all caches:
32bit - ng:

Also according to your flags in these logs are simd instructions same for 32 and 64 bit in CE ? e.g. here are information about extra operand for aarch64: https://groups.google.com/g/DynamoRIO-Users/c/xQdkOjFqUww?pli=1
In retroarch in CE-NO are not presented neon asimd, but only asimd.

Now that the development is moving towards -no only, was there a working dovi.ko discovered?
many of us(70%+) are here due to dv fel, i understand as ng kernel is becoming cumbersome to maintain but it’ll be still sad when ng becomes eol.
Sorry, that’s not true. Maybe noisier but not the majority.
It will still work and keep on working
I don’t believe you, since for a long time now, you keep the box/OS usage stats secret.
Just wander how many people choose not to send stats due to this big secret.
i wish if dv 7 fel will be continue with ce-ne and ce-no as an addon or built into once ce-ng eol. ce with dv fel make coreelec different than the android tv.
You’re free to believe whatever you want. The Team is free to choose the path it wants for the future. The hostility continues towards the Team and it makes it harder to continue every day (personal note). Some user are staring at the tree and forgetting the forest. Maybe the forest will disappear and they’ll notice only when it’s too late.
The lack of support for FEL on NE or NO is not a choice.
Everyone can believe what they like, but …
Is that what you want ?
Maybe the CE team will soon be disbanded, lots of rude users, far too few developers.
It’s not the path you choose that I don’t believe in, but “Maybe noisier but not the majority” part. I don’t know, and you certainly will not disclose the numbers for “noisier” ones, that is why I don’t believe you.
Besides the numbers, I don’t see here any hostilities in my writing towards your team, only praise for great and unique work you all do.
NO, I just wanted the numbers to be disclosed.
Concerning rude users, harsh words and even insults, the Team shouldn’t give any concern to such posts, as their work is too precious to loose time and nerves over such “standard mode” of communication that prevails today.
Discuss again and again?
It’s written multiple times FEL will not be supported above 4.9 kernel.
It’s about a Dolby Laboratories licencing change. Nothing that someone can do about it. Future by Dolby Laboratories is MEL, not FEL.
-
FEL is designed for use with BluRay in combination with DV capable players in hardware only. Not for watching illegal ripped copy protected content. Also when it works, it’s illegal!
Sidenote: You can make backups of your discs without issues. But they are useless as they are encrypted because of the copy protection. Only by not authorized removal of the copy protection the content get available.
End of discussion. -
4.9, NG kernel is not compatible anymore with newest build system sources, what everyone want to have… → EOL
-
5.4, NE is EOL because 5.15 NO will replace it with more/wider support of hardware, include G12, SC2 and S5 Dolby Vision (no FEL).
It’s certainly legal to watch my own copies of my own BD FEL disks.
Concerning FEL-MEL differences, to my understanding, is pretty arbitrary. I see that most texts that list FEL-MEL movies differentiate them by layer bitrate. To some arbitrary bitrate (<2Mbps) movie is defined as MEL, and higher that that it is defined as FEL. I wander how many FEL- mongering individuals can see the “praised” quality difference between the two
It’s NOT when you remove the copy protection! Ask your lawer!
And there are no BluRay exist without copy protection!
You can make backups of your discs without issues. But they are useless as they are encrypted because of the copy protection. Only by not authorized removal of the copy protection the content get available.
