Amlogic-no Discussion

Subtitle stutter is much better with latest nightly 0115.

However, when switching from any gui menu to a running stream, screen goes black for a second before image returns. Don’t know if these are connected, but its swapping one issue for another it seems…

Does not happen here. Exact description how to reproduce?

Start any file or stream/channel, then open any gui part (homescreen, any menu item), switch back to the running stream and be greeted by a second of blackness until the image returns.
Again, this might be unrelated as I am not sure it did not exist on earlier nightlies .
I will investigate some more, see if it might be some specific setting or something…

Stutter on 23,9xx content seems much improved, though!

It seems to be related to refresh rate difference between content and gui.

This happens on content that has a different refresh than gui. It doesn’t happen if refresh rates are the same

/Edit: tried all refresh rate combi’s I could find. It’s exclusive to 23.976 content; other refresh rates that differ from gui refresh (50hz) don’t show the issue either. Strange…

Hello,
after including dtb for Beelink GT King rev_a I can boot and use CE. But after every update the dtb.img is replaced with rev_b dtb and I have to manually replace it with rev_a dtb file.

No, it’s a multidtb including all rev in one DTB.
But it looks like I missed GTKing in the config.
Should be fixed tomorrow.

I can also confirm that the situation has improved a lot with the latest update.
Thank you for your service.
I don’t know if this has been mentioned before, but I’m afraid to mention that I can’t adjust the subtitle position in the screen calibration menu.
No matter where I set it and go, it doesn’t save.
When I start the video again, the subtitles are exactly where they were before.
Like the previous nightlys in the past.
It’s not a life-saving problem, so please forgive me for pointing this out.

Does anyone use the Netflix plugin? Can anyone who uses it test it?
When I run the Netflix plugin, the audio streams normally but the video stays in the same place and does not advance. The video advances when the info bar is displayed. When there is no info bar, the video will still stop but the audio will advance.

Yes, it’s broken. We’ll see how it can be fixed.

Subtitle position setting is not working from “Calibration menu” for a long time now
Position can be now set in Settings → Player → Subtitles menu with following settings:

  • Position on screen → Manual
  • Override subtitle styles → Positions
  • Vertical margin → 4.95% => Adjust your favorite position with slider.

The above error also occurs in SD TV broadcasts.
HD channels stream normally

I think I will do a clean install and try again.

After a clean install the system is back to normal, but after running Netflix I am experiencing intermittent freezes on SD streams.
Video stuttering on Netflix continues.

After an upgrade i find the following log file in /storage

Node with this is probably too much? The question is how it got there.

The same can be seen on Youtube.

With the last couple of Coreelec NO nightly the latest being 16 Jan 2025 (CoreELEC-Amlogic-no.aarch64-22.0-Piers_nightly_20250116-Odroid_N2.img.gz), I get a black screen on a new install with my Odroid N2+ (2G , Rev 0.5 20200406) on uSD and switch at MMC position. The petitboot is 18 Dec 2023 which I believe is the latest. The Odroid N2+ is connected to a 24" Dell computer monitor via HDMI to DVI input which has been used successfully and previously for Coreelec NG

The UART log is as follows

Thanks CE team, the bugs I mentioned yesterday have been fixed with the latest update.
No freezes on Live Tv SD broadcasts
Netflix works well, no freezing in VP9 video streaming.

DVI was and maybe will never work with newer kernel than NG.
Use a monitor with HDMI input.

on N2, I still have the same behaviour when skipping on Netflix, after updating to the latest nightly (1601). It is stuck, cannot stop the video although UI is functional. Once I press a button, it is completely stuck, had to unplug.
I will try a clean install later this evening
