Thereās a problem with your deviceās DTB configuration, that is causing the SDIO controller to fail. Itās not the mt7668 drivers.
In your last dmesg, the SDIO tuning error is back. Youāre sure you used this dtb.img and not an earlier version?

The tuning error is caused by an issue with 1.8v-3.3v switching. I set your sdio to use sd-highspeed (3.3v only), doesnāt use tuning. Your dmesg from the other day showed the tuning error again, thatās why I think you were using an older version.
The dmesg is blank. Delete all your previous dtb.imgās, just try that one.

I just got a Dune Pro Plus 1 8K, installed Coreelec which was fine, but I cannot find a dovi.ko file that doesnāt throw up an invalid kernel error message!
Can someone point me to the proper source. Thanks

It worked perfectly. Many thanks. Still have issues with this box but Coreelec definitely improves the performance. It seriously out performs the native software in playing 4K from an nfs share. Thanks again.
Ok clean install with DTB from linked
The initial install seems no issues from dmesg,or i could not see error where you indicated.
After command in putty to reboot/shutdown, or power cycle the Box .
Tuning error is there.
Also after first boot, CoreELEC update is called for ,so try reboot it crashed, so this is when i power cycle the Box
@ht2tweak posted a video in Kodi forum on AV1 improvements w/NO.
May have to order a S928X-J or -K box.
Iām sure I completely follow. This dmesg is from todayās nightly, CE-NO was updated. Did you copy the dtb.img over to your box after you updated or before?
CE updates replace the dtb.img, the modified dtb would have been deleted, and the tuning error would be back because the box is again using the stock dtb.img.
If this is the case, copy back the modified dtb.img, reboot, and grab the dmesg again.

That was exactly what i was doing,clean install with modded DTB ,then CoreELEC would update.
I have changed updates to manual ,copied over/replaced DTB with modded one.

My Brother inlaw was using this Box,his kids dropped it, stepped on,kicked across room,spilled any number of juice,milk,etc,the 5 volt dc in jack solder us loose,so have alligator clip to keep side pressure on.
If you want to abandon ship ,let me know??

What do you mean by "check some online service with widevine? How would i do that? I see some sample drm protected videos exist online, e.g. Streaming DRM protected content with Bitmovin Player Web SDK, but that doesnāt explain how to correctly use them in kodi to play the drm protected content.
Note i already said i could play drm protected content with amlogic (older coreelec version), just not since i did a fresh install of amlogic-no.
Thereās something different about your s905x4 board that is causing the SDIO problem. SDIO works ok on the SEI s905x4 boards for example. This device probably needs a custom DTB.
The DTB mod you tried fixes the tuning error but thereās still a problem with BT, that requires additional trouble-shooting. Iād blacklist the BT driver to see if WiFi works.
If this device is not important to you, or you donāt care about running CE-NO, keep using CE-NG. I donāt think this problem is going to get fixed unless someone with that device works through this.
To temporarily disable bluetooth (to check on WiFi) run:
CoreELEC:~ # echo blacklist bt_mt7668 > /storage/.config/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
Then reboot and grab the dmesg to see if WiFi is loading, and only BT is a problem.

Works fine on NG ,and also no probs on NE ,NO with ethernet only.
My Brother Inlaw allready has a replacement Box,so not much use in this one anymore.

Hi all!
I am new (since 3 nightlies) -no user with a vontar x4 box, but not with coreelec wich I am using since the beginning with a 905X.
With the latest nightly I am experiencing a lot of freezes and reboots, also with cpu temps going to 84/85 Ā°C. Anyone experiencing the same?
Wifi doesnāt work for that device right? I am using a dongle to solve that issue.
And one more questionā¦ when I did the fresh installation from 0 and the SO started, it notified me that a new firmware was found, please update the android firmwareā¦ but I have the latest version I found for that tvboxā¦ what must I do? Wich firmware it is referring to?
Does it say Android? It usual for CE to have updates quickly when using nighties. You can turn that off in CE settings.
Temp high has been reported before on other forums for the Vontar x4 box. There is a modded case cover with a fan already on the market to cool them.
