I was most interested in seeing if the TV led playback worked or not as that’s the “pure” mode anyway :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t know if the possibly forthcoming new dovi.ko blob will change things but there clearly seem to be some DoVi issues compared to the S922X at least.

Using iperf I get gigabit speed when receiving from my server and 650 plus Mbps uploading. The start of the movies is really fast, no problem with that. So something with that unit or some weird ethernet problem.

Tested w/Use player led and I get the same crappy DV playback problems.

Yes, “Use Player LED” disabled == TV LED and it is tunnelled in 8-bit RGB.

The AV1 version I have of the “Dolby Test RPU Not Working” clip works on the S928X so it’s something in the HEVC + DoVi combination.

At this point, just more power & speed. And, at this point, AM6B+ is the better box for CE.

After being dissatisfied with the lack of a 4K gui on my am6+ I’ve ordered an am8pro.

Now the interface and art work are rendered in 4K and super sharp. Have not touched the am6+ since then.

That’s my reason for choosing the am8pro.

Good for you; I don’t spend my time staring at GUI, but watching movies/series in DV P7 FEL when available. So, to each his own makes even more sense to me…

Yep the 4K GUI IS the important thing.
The quality of the play of the movies is secondary. :grinning:

Btw… CoreElec can run in 4K…

Quite a number, I interchange “remuxes” (along with UHD BD disks) with several friends, and also use streaming from de*rid servers which contain quite a collection :wink:

Ok, I only have very few “FEL” movies. I have both the Ugoos SK1 and AM6B+, but in reality, I really don’t NEED the AM6B+.
