There’s no TV on the market which support True-HD!
Dd+ with atmos is the maximum you can get…
You can enable pass through if you connect earc to avr/soundbar …
If you enable pass through without external device connected to earc there will be no sound!
I also think it’s not wrong. Please will make a Android log to show what audio format is used. Your CE log shows it used TrueHD passthrough.
But as other users said you need a AVR for passthrough. So I am sure Android uses LPCM, not passthrough. But only a Android dmesg log (bug report) will show the truth.
Quick question, because I’m hearing conflicting info. I was thinking of getting the Am8 Pro with 8gb of RAM for use with CoreELEC. Some people say that the 8gb of RAM is pointless as only 4gb are addressable in a 32 bit OS. Can’t figure out if this is what people are saying about it running Android or CoreELEC. Does CoreELEC utilize the additional RAM above 4GB or no? If not, will it ever? Will Kodi on CoreELEC utilize above 4GB of RAM? My apologies if this has already been asked. I’m new to the forum and I don’t know if search is just not that intuitive or if I’m just an idiot and doing it wrong.
EDIT: It appears that according to some older posts that CE on the AM8 Pro should be able to address the full 8GB of RAM available on these devices. Please correct me if I’m wrong though. I imagine the full answer may be a bit more nuanced due to the contradictory info I’m seeing. I’m using heavily modded Kodi that performs quite poorly on my Shield, which is why I’m looking to switch to this device, and FEL isn’t of huge importance to me, though it’d be nice if it was ever figured out.
Hey, CE team. I just installed latest CE21 nightly on my X96 X10 Pro 8GB. Wifi, Remote, VFD, Dolby Vision works, but USB 3.0 Port is super weak. It won’t read any USB, even 2.4G dongles for my air mouse don’t work. If I plug a USB hub into it, the hub LEDs light up, but still nothing I plug into the hub gets recognized. When I put a USB into the 2.0 port on the box, the playback of some 4K videos is choppy. The ports work fine in Android.
This is quite a different setup from most traditional eARC ports use
Normally the eARC port is used as output to external Speakers/avr/Sound Bar
Not as input???
However eARC port can be used as input.
Although you are only using your TV’S internal speakers
In CoreELEC settings audio do you have passthrough enabled?
And have enabled all Dolby Digital capabilities
AC3 receiver
AC3 transciding
Dolby Digital Plus E AC3 receiver
True HD Capabile receiver
DTS HD Capabile receiver
Thank you for your response and interest. Of course I did that, but to no avail. I appreciate the efforts of all developers, but this problem prevents me from enjoying the coreelec system
With the sound pass turned off the result becomes bad, I see the difference with the trueHD pass on Android Ugoos the sound is stronger and more beautiful, too you should not tell anyone what they need or don’t need
