Amlogic S928X

Yeah, sorry, I was wrong when I said it’s only a CE issue. It happens in Android too. I have two USBs that are being read on my PC as hard drives, not flash drives. When I plug either of them in, the port stops working. I have to take them out, restart the box. Then the port works again until I try to put those USBs back in it.

I’ll go buy a powered USB 3.0 hub and see if that solves the problem.

No, use Google how to create a Android bug report.

Will this help solve the problem?
Or is it just to make sure?

Yes, because I am sure it uses LPCM on Android.
But only dmesg will show the truth.

I trust your opinion and I will try to send what you want tomorrow, do you want it from TV or AM8?

If what you say is true, why is there no sound on AM8 while there is on homatics? Can this be fixed?

Btw, in case you want to try any more dovi.ko modules. I managed to extract this one from the latest Dune HD Solo 8K firmware image (IIRC at least…)
For what it’s worth it has a different SHA256SUM value vs any other that I’ve compared it against.

From this file:

Thanks, looks like Dune HD is doing the same as Ugoos, and now encrypting their modules.

I’d call it a stretch to call what they’re doing as encrypting, more like obfuscating
Anywho, this is the tool I used to extract these from both the SK1 and Dune firmware images:

Figure_1

The file has uniform entropy close to 1 across the entire file, which makes encryption the most likely case. If it was obfuscation I wouldn’t expect near complete randomness throughout the entire file. Even highly compressed files aren’t this uniformly random.

I don’t think Dune HD and Ugoos are doing anything clever on their own, they’re probably just making use of a compilation option available that encrypts all modules.

Wow, that is old school app. Those names bring back a lot of memories from the Freaktab forum. Stane1983, Magendanz.

While you are grabbing the adb debug log

Check in Developer Options the status of USB Protocol

Should be set as charging
Not
Mtp
USB ethernet
Etc…

Also could disable USB Debug
And test 3.0 port

Just a couple of things that came to mind

Hello.
I can confirm (on Minix U8K Ultra) that a Minix Neo A2 Lite 2,4G Wireless Remote (with Dongle) works in CoreElec with all buttons on the front, Gyroscope…and so on…and also the keyboard at the back side. It also works on the Android part of the box. I was using this remote as my daily remote for Odroid N2, and now i can take it for the Minix U8k Ultra.

Looking at the debug log, does this mean the stream is being considered to be interlaced?

2024-11-02 21:29:49.414 T:11366 debug : CVideoPlayerVideo - CDVDMsg::DEMUXER_PACKET - checking interlace vfmt: interlace

I hope this is what you are looking for and that this annoying issue that has kept me from using the coreelec system is resolved

bugreport-AM8-RD2A.211001.002-2024-11-04-23-37-00.zip (9.8 MB)

I will check it tomorrow. I hope you did play once a media file with TrueHD before pull the bug report?

Ok thanks , I didn’t actually do that, but I did it now :

bugreport-AM8-RD2A.211001.002-2024-11-05-00-56-18.zip (9.9 MB)

This is from AM8 information window :

This is from Sony bravia XR 2022 :

It only shows the kernel log is empty. Maybe by Android protection.
So no idea how to solve your issue…

Unfortunatel what I gathered was not useful

I did this on homatics :

A close friend of mine wants to buy a ‘zidoo Z9X 8K’.Has anyone run CE on this device? Thanks.
