Amlogic S928X

Hi @mk3. I understand you, but don’t worry. I think things will clear up with time. If I understood correctly, CoreElec is going through a major transition phase, which probably explains our feelings. Let’s thank Portish for the amount of work he does without compensation. He’s an excellent technician. As for teaching, maybe it’s also up to other users to try to take more time to help each other. Don’t worry, we’ll get there. I hadn’t gotten my hands dirty for years, so I forgot a lot of things. ^^ But if I manage to, I’ll get back to you. Have a nice day everyone.

For 15 days I was in the hospital and receiving treatment, away from everything. There have been good developments about our devices in the forum.I got out of the hospital this evening and I’m working on new updates. Many thanks to the CE team.
By the way, I received a gift Ugoos SK1 device from a friend and I was very happy.

Hello all,new to here, just want to know which version of firmware should I use for my Samsung qn90b which doesn’t support Dolby vision,I have tencent 5x,and I hope to use ce watch all dv p5 p7 p8 trans from dv to hdr10.

Such version does not exist for S928x boxes, only for S922x and S905x boxes.

I also have a s905x4 box,which version?

Unsupported by CE Team " VS10 Engine / VSVDB Injection Addition Into Mainline CE"
Releases found here. Use A11 version.

Devices with DV support automatically “downscale” to non DV when display does it not support.

I’ve tried ce22 ng on s928x but it seems doesn’t work on DV p5

CE-NE 22 or CE-NO 22? there’s no CE-NG 22. CE-NO 22 requires you add the dovi.ko to your box.

Yes ce-ne 22,I will have a try again

Works on DV p5 mkv,but doesn’t work on p5 .mp4

One of the audio limitations of this system discussed last year (see message I’m replying to) was lack of multi-channel PCM. Only passthrough or 2.0 channel PCM was supported. Has there been any change to this situation with more recent 5.15 (no) kernel and CE releases? Are more than 2 PCM channels supported in Android?

Multichannel audio has been working in CE for this SoC for a long time now.

Does it work on the latest CE-NO-22 nightly releases? For example, if you play a DTS-HD title, disable audio passthrough, and change number of audio channels in Kodi audio settings from 2.0 to 5.1+, do you get correct multi-channel PCM audio?

A post was split to a new topic: EmuELEC with 5.15 kernel, S928X

Trying to figure out if I can use coreelec on a Dune HD Max 8K. I see there is no device tree for it, has anyone tried installing on this device? Would it work if I pick a similar one from the list instead?

Tried the s5_s928x_ugoos_sk1_8g.dtb but unfortunately that wasn’t booting

Hmmmmmmmm

Specs on this machine
Most impressive
Dolby Vision VS 10
Profile 7 MELand FEL playback…
Etc…

May not need CoreELEC if all is true in Android?

There is no FEL on S928X, only converted to MEL.
Such devices are very rare because of the high price.

You can ask Dune if they will support CoreELEC.
We will need than some hardware samples to be able to implement it.

I am running CoreELEC on my Dune HD Pro 8K plus without any issues. I use the Ugoos SK1 device tree.
