Amlogic S928X

On my Sk1 when I installed CE NE, all I did just used Rufus tools to tranfer the image to USB and used the installation steps and never had any issues.
But when I tried to install CE NO, i was not having much luck. Last night I tried again with the latest nightly image, but before removing the USB from my PC, I manaually resized the “STORAGE” partition to the reminder of my USB stick.
Then followed the process and it worked.

From my limited experience, whenever I have problem with CE installation I use Sandisk 32GB uSD card or Sandisk USB 32 GB stick. If it does not work with any of those, I don’t bother any more with that box. 16 GB & 32 GB sizes are the only failsafe that I’m aware of…

128 GB… I showed it on my video.

Wow!! I am at a loss on what can be the issue. YOU have done the correct steps, used the correct OS device, even did a factory reset on you Dune HD media player.

The ONLY thing left to try is to use a different TV/Monitor. I am sure you tested with different HDMI cables.

I tried resizing but it failed on easeus partition master.

I can try again.

I will try with an old 16GB I have thanks all for the suggestions!

@clarkss12, TV should have nothing to do with it? I am pluggued in AVR … I will try direct to TV if 16gb fails.

I am plugged directly into my TV, not my AVR.

Edit: In the “olden days”, prior to eARC all my devices were connected directly to my AVR so the AVR could “extract” the HD audio codecs and passthrough the video. Now, I prefer letting the TV do all of the video functions and passthrough the HD audio codecs to the AVR via eARC.

you can use Diskpart in windows to do that, if you google “resize partition with diskpart (extend)” you will find lots to tutorials
Alternativly create a live usb of Gparted live

I tried 16GB flash drive, still not working. Tried deleting STORAGE partition and recreating it in ext4 to resize it and still not working. Tried removing dovi.ko in case I have bad one, not working.Tried that with NO.

I think the problem is with renaming the dtb file.
If you are using Windows, the dtb extension “img” may be written twice.
Set windows folder options to show file extensions.
Note:I can’t explain it well because my English is not good.

I already have extensions showing in windows explorer and the name is dtb.img and I also see dtb.img when I check COREELEC partition on the dune hd.

It appears that your “box” is censoring you… :grinning:

Why do you do a step which is 100% not needed? Resizing is done on first boot of CE.

I think the CE logo will appear with the correct dtb even if the device is not turned on.

Because I tried something new just in case and foxy said it helped. I tried infinite times now without resizing and it does not work either.

@clarkss12 , Yep censored! I don’t like eArc it’s buggy and am6b+ installed easily on same setup.

As it look hopeless the only solution is a UART log to show what’s going on. Then the issue can be solved in a few minutes.

Thanks sorted it , can Kodi 21.2 work on coreelec NO,as some of the features not working on latest nightly piers build

Nope it can’t.
You can install 21.2NE but if you use subtitles there is stuttering which won’t be fixed.
