No Dolby Vision in CE . No streaming support in android.
Plus you need separate buy accessories

Lot of cheaper box can play just hdr.
Of course maybe usable for some reason.
Dolby Vision is overrated, many people think about DV FEL - it´s the holy gral.
But a lot of other people like me are not very interested to get DV FEL and a lot of issues.
We want a very stable system to watch video/music.
I started many years ago with a beelink s905x box running a community version of LE.
Need a lot of knowledge to run it from internal memory etc. etc.
I was lucky, because this hardware was supported.
Now there are a lot of amlogic brands, cheap and cheaper chips, people asking every day about bluetooth and wifi driver … in many cases there are no drivers
Back to the N2/N2+
You can use it running CE on sd-card and wired ethernet
Stable, stable, stable …
If You want emmc, You can buy emmc card
If You want bluetooth, You can buy any supported dongle - no driver trouble
And
It´s not impossible to run DV, but who cares about ?
A good friend of mine bought a DV supported Hisense-TV(cheap) + Ugoos AM6 running the “old” NG
Had to fix a lot of issues … spending much time.
He was very proud and showed me videos with DV FEL.
Hmmm.
We compared the same video in HDR using my N2+ and my OLED TV(non-DV support)
Now my friend is no more longer proud.
In my opinion, an N2/N2+ is still one of the best devices, but it´only my personal opinion.

well of course HDR looks better on an OLED than DV on a cheap Hisense non OLED TV.

Is there any device now in 2025 with truehd and dts-x as good in cost benefit as the TOX3?

Are these cheaper devices. Tox3 and vontar x4 good enough for 4K remux videos? Even high bitrate and fps ones like Gemini man 4K?

what has that got to do with the deal? did you not know that majority of boxes are bought from Aliexpress. The box isn’t even one that I came across, someone on this forum mentioned it. Do you have any complaints about the box, AliExpress or me?
Trying to help others who are looking for he best value CoreELEC box is a bad thing? and you want to criticise me for that? My post is both relevant and helpful and opens a debate, trying to initiate a conversation is something you averse to?

I have older HK1 RBOX S905X4 which is the same as Vontar/Transpeed…
Hardware may have changed abit ,but is still probably circa 2021/2022…
I know this there are no wifi drivers bcm 43xx for NO 5.15.153, which could be a factor.
Works great with NE 5.4.210 though. EOL
Price is good to excellent, maybe something like Tox 3 may be better ?

I had Tox3 as the best value box till confused alerted me to the X4 and the Tox3 is substantially more expensive
would be very interesting is someone had both boxes to compare, you do Freddy? you have the Tox3?
I have both boxes (retired) and the TOX is far superior in cooling. It is worth the extra money, IF the tariffs have not sent the price out of range. I checked Aliexpress and the prices are all over the map and some double in price.
But as @Freddy alluded to, time to move on to a different box for about the same price or a little more. Butttt, if you already have one, NO need to upgrade. The TOX3 is a fantastic media player and will still be an excellent CE box.

I believe in value and no skimping on the cheapest box, it will hurt you in the long run, in saying that confused has mentioned he has had the box for over a year with running well
also checking the reviews and ratings the Vontar x4 is significantly more reviewed, possibly because it’s an older box and out of 1000’s of reviews you have 1 review saying the usb is broken. it has 4.9 compared to 4.8 of tox3.
seems even though it’s a higher tempreture , it’s within it’s tollerance?
did you install CoreELEC or use the android kodi?
