Is there any way to copy the edid from the device when it is using the non -ng version and then apply it to the ng version. I have to admit, I am stumped.

Hey everyone!

I bought a dune homatics box r 4k plus to run coreelec, mainly to watch DV local media, both full blu- ray rips (with and without FEL) and DV streaming media. As most of the new streaming media is in CMv4.0, will the Dune Homatics box be able to play it in its full extent, or will it convert the file on-the-fly to CMv2.9?

CM4.0 available through TV led DV

In this specific box? Im running coreelec 21.1-ng, with the dovi.ko file, and when I run the FEL TEST ST DL P7 CMV4.0 4000nits V3.mp4 file, It says I can decode FEL but it is stuck on level 2, not showing the text that sould appear if the dune Homatics played CMv4.0 files. I tried both stable and nightly versions.

The box is connected directly to my LG C2, which can display CMv4.0 content correctly.

Is there any other file I can test? I feel that the dune homatics does not in fact play CMv4.0…

Did anyone get a chance to test ATV14 on Dune HD and if you can confirm FEL playback still intact? TIA

Currently CE-NG doesn’t boot on the ATV14 s905x4 devices, only CE-NO works. CE-NO doesn’t support DV FEL.

ATV14 is still very new, and there is hope that CE-NG can be made to boot on ATV14 boxes, but this will take patience.

Hello simonhust666, Cloud I buy your A311D-K board?

Hi!

I’m tempted to buy this Android box: X96 Max Plus Ultra TV Box Android 11 Amlogic S905X4. On Amazon, it’s only €69. It doesn’t mention anywhere that it is compatible with Dolby Vision, but since it is equipped with an S905X4, I thought it might work. What do you think?

No Dolby Vision Support on that SoC

Thanks for your answer. I thought that maybe the DV support was only dependent on the SoC, implying that every device based on the S905x4 would work.

Amlogic sells the same SOC with different licensing depending on what the vendor wants to spend. There’s the S905x4 (no extra licensing) & the S905x4-J/K (includes Dolby Vision licensing). If the vendor (company) doesn’t explicitly mention DV support in writing, assume it’s not supported.

DV is a big selling point, any device that supports it will be sure to mention it in its description

Has anyone ever attempted to play a Dolby Vision Profile 10.1 file on any one of these boxes using CE?

I just came across this profile today and apparently it uses 10-bit AV1 codec unlike the rest. I tried playing a file on CE-NG with my S905X4-J box and it couldn’t display anything and just had a blank screen (player interface was also not displayed), however DV mode is getting triggered on the TV.

I understand it’s not a profile widely used or anything, but I thought it might interest the CE team and others.

Have a Profile 10 sample file to share? Curious to try it out. I see Dolby added a Profile 20 as well that adds MV-HEVC for 10-bit 3D.

Here you go: 1.49 GB file on MEGA

It seems like Dolby has developed the Profile 20 for Apple Vision Pro and Apple has provided samples on its website: Advanced stream for visionOS - HTTP Live Streaming Examples - Apple Developer (URL probably works only on Vision Pro)

I have saved the 2160p stream of the sample into an mp4 file: 263.96 MB file on MEGA

From the spec, it looks like both the eye’s view layers are contained in a single video track.
