CoreELEC 20.0-Nexus_alpha1 (pre-release)

Fingers crossed
Thanks !

I tried with (CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-20.0-Nexus_nightly_20220704-Generic.img.gz), but there are no .dtb drivers for a311d2 (Vim4). So I tried with the .dtb a311d (Vim3) drivers, taking care to add .img, but it doesn’t work. It won’t even boot from the micro sd.

Because the support is in development and there are no public images yet. Only for internal testing. ETA is currently not set yet.

Ok, I misunderstood. Too bad ! Thank you for the information.

I’m in the same situation with beelink gt king II…looking forward to the support release

As vpeter said, it’s being tested internally, also for the GT king II.
We appreciate everyone’s desire to have CoreELEC running on their devices but we’ll release an image when we reach a point where we’re sure we’ve reached Alpha status.

We are like kids. :face_with_peeking_eye:
Take the time you need, and if it has to be done after your vacation, then I prefer that rather than pressure on the developers. Good luck gentlemen.

Just an update on the performance of the “Nexus” version. Running it on a microSD card using HK1 RBOX X4 (Amlogic S905X4). It uses the same device tree as the “Matrix” version.

I tested 4k videos with 72 Mb/s, played perfectly, no dropped frames. It automatically changed the framerate and resolution, and passed through the Dolby TrueHD audio.

Also, tested a 1080p video with the VC-1 video codec, same thing, played perfectly with no dropped frames and automatically switched framerate and resolution, and passed through the HD audio codec.

Next, I installed the Tvheadend server and client. Again, played perfectly with NO dropped frames. To be noted, the closed captions are working perfectly.

Still have to test the Netflix addon and others.

The CoreELEC group are doing a fantastic job…
I may even use this “Nexus” version as my main media player.

Netflix works, 1080p with DD+ audio.

Edit: the TV scrapers are not working. It crashes Kodi, but Kodi restarts.

Are these OTA in TVH or some other scheme?

It seems the scrapers for any media.

I installed 20.0-Nexus night-20220704 on H96 MAX X4 @2G/16/1GbE/Wifi[2/4GHz]/BT by Aliexpress

To boot micro sd card you need to push button in the AV port. You only need to press the button once and system will boot from SD-Card if it’s available.
I used to boot dtv 2g_100mb(generic), dtb 2g_1000mb didn’t work for me, I will check it again.

From what I checked everything works fine.(list bellow)

  1. TVH stream SD/HD - works fine
  2. emby addon(instalation, synchronisation) - works fine
  3. emby streaming - works fine
  4. h264 video - works fine
  5. HEVC - works fine
  6. HEVC HDR10 - works fine
  7. HEVC bitrate 60Mbps - works fine
  8. HDMI CEC - works fine
  9. Wifi 2,4 and 5GHz - works fine
  10. LAN 100Mibps - works fine (it should by 1000)
  11. BT, I only check that it’s available, didn’t connect anything - works fine

I think this release it’s usable as primary STB, if I come across errors I will edit this post and let you know.

Edit. 20220726
Unfortunately box on stock andorid firmware also is 100Mibps, so it’s not capable of GibE
