CoreELEC 20.0-Nexus_alpha3 Discussion

What format is this? I only get black screen at all.

The video is played smoothly but no sound
My device GT King 2

Codec HEVC 4k@24i hybride HDR10/10+/DV
On PC and on Kodi 19.5, it works perfectly. But on VIM4 β†’ weird colors

Regarding the sound, it’s normal, I deleted the audio track, because Atmos weighs heavily for the sample. On the other hand I am happy to know that it works on GTKing 2! Is this the same version of CE as for the VIM4?

yes the same version.A311D2, CE Nexus

Odd. It would be a driver problem on the VIM4 ?

Just contrast a little low

It also played flawlessly on my GT king II, will try VIM4 later.

The contrast should not be low. This may be because the HD10 metadata was not detected.
On VIM3 kodi 19.5 it works perfectly.

Thanks Vasco and Fou.

It may be caused by TV. An old 1080p TV I use in my garden house.

Played in the vim4 also. What information you get when you pull up the player process info?

12 bit, YUV444
HDR 10 BT.2020

Why 444? You forced it? It should normally be 420 by default.

No way. Everything is in Auto, as is the case on my VIM3 which works perfectly.

If I force 4:2:2, I get the same result :face_with_monocle:

No, 4:2:0 is for 4k
And try to limit to 10bit as well

Reboot after changing the values.

420 is for 4k 50/60hz, so 444 should be correct

But you have a Kernel oops in log as well what maybe can cause it.

420/10 bits β†’ black screen (no signal) :frowning:

420/auto bits β†’ Same, black screen (no signal) :frowning:

420/8 bits β†’ Strange colors

My T7 (Beelink) reports 8 bit YUV444 and plays nicely on SDR only monitor.

Is your tv HDR10+ capable? Because in my case it reverts to HDR10+ and plays nicely.

Just to confirm with the new Matrix nightly the dtb.img and dtb.xml files both show the new updated date so have been updated as it clearly is supposed to do. Same with my Nexus Apha build too Thanks for the feedback.

Just for info my Nexus build on a separate SD card is working very well and smoothly on my new Ugoos X4 Pro box. IPTV is smooth and good too. Well done to the team working on Nexus.

As to the weird colours problem well I have always found those problems have been with a dodgy HDMI cable, so assume you have tried replacing the HDMI cable.
