CoreELEC 20.3-Nexus Amlogic-ne Discussion

For me it was the same. Since yesterday, it says that there is an update, but nothing happens afterwards. In previous versions, after this message, the update file was downloaded and a message appeared asking for permission to apply it.

So, I downloaded the ne.aarch64 file from GitHub, I put it in the Update shared folder, I rebooted and the patch was applied. Now I have the 20.3-Nexus ne.aarch64 installed.

It seems there is a problem in the update procedure…

Thanks for your work!!

Hi guys!

Nice job, but when i tried to use a nvme as internal storage, does not appears, I have a vim4 with the new mx2 extension, where is the configuration settings to enable nvme? Or do I mount it by cli?

thnks

I don’t think this (PCIe) is supported but maybe I’m wrong.

i ask because appear in the news:

 * Amlogic-ne: added support for PCI

So, I’ve had my HK1rBox S905X4 a few weeks now, still has the stutters after pausing some times, but the main issue is freezing. Was just watching The Office, binging, and after 5 episodes, mid episode screen went black and system froze. Half the time I click reboot kodi or shut down, it hangs at that screen and does nothing.

Beelink with v18, maybe once every 3 months it might lock up, and 9/10 times if you waited a minute it would just reboot itself. This one, froze on reboot once, screen went black and froze once, and another episode just quit after playing and didn’t go to the next episode (had play all for folder) and didn’t freeze, but just quit and back to the main screen.

Been very flakey for me.

Does v19.x work on this box? will it possibly be more stable for me? Should I try a nightly? I went from such a solid performing box, to daily issues, it’s kinda depressing. I just wanna watch TV.

Sometimes it is the media/Office Binge

Same issue with other shows/Movies/ media in your library ?

All versions of CoreELEC will work on Hk1x4

Try Nexus Stable

Or Latest Nightly Nexus .ng

4.9 Kernel

On H96Max-x4 Using CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-19.5-Matrix-Generic.img works fine.
However when I installed (fresh) CoreELEC-Amlogic-ne.aarch64-20.3-Nexus-Generic.img av1 decoder failed, once I play av1 video the whole HDMI fails - no signal on screen - I’ve to restart kodi on ssh.
Playing h264 videos is fine.
On both systems I’m using s905x4_4g.dtb image.
As a new user I cannot upload log file, so

@freddy not sure about other stuff… only had this running a few weeks, and this week finally decided to use nfo/jpg files on my NAS and scrape local info on Kodi. Grabbed Media Companion, and been slowly changing artwork and files etc. TV series finally done so scraped that to Kodi and while testing just kinda tried an episode of The Office, and kept going. Only gonna watch a few seasons though, once Ed Helms joined the series it kinda went downhill for me.

Nightly.ng though means format SD card and start over? I have 20.3 now, the update didn’t work so had to manually download the file and apply it.

Start over
Yes and No

If you have a spare SD card or USB drive

Use that to test Nightly. ng

I have some spares from old cell phones
So have 3 version for HK1X4 Box

You can import library/media files etc
To test on different versions

@freddy I might have to buy a cheap test card to try with. Only SD cards I have are for the CoreElec boxes, and 1 for my 3D Printer.

Just clicked to power off, and again, signal tells my TV to shut down fine, but when I look, the blue light is still on my box. Give it 10min, and still on. Turn the TV on and sure enough, it’s stuck on the shutdown menu again.

That can be more of an HK1X4
CeC issue
Than CoreELEC version.

There is an old thread all about the HK1X4 S905X4

Its alot of reading
System will condense for you
You can skim over most posts

It would be most beneficial

Alot of these issues have already been discussed

@freddy bummer… wish I saw that before bought it. But, was a tight budget so, what can ya do. Went back to school and just finished a few weeks ago so, once working again I’ll probably grab an X96 S928X 8GB DDR4, or one of those Odroids look good… preferably something off the supported list. Shame Beelink doesn’t make the S905X-? based stuff anymore. Love that Beelink. Solid performer. Still have one working in the family room.

Hk1x4 still a decent box, once you gave it fine tuned/tweaked.

Nexux Nightly…ng is most stable currently
For my needs on this Box.

I switch back and forth between. ng and .no

Bypassed the .ne kernel

Regardless of TV Box iam using
I always disable CeC in CoreELEC

Main TV with multiple inputs kept waking up the HK1
Every time i changed inputs.

Just my own work around :relieved:

Happy Testing
