CoreELEC 21.2-Omega Amlogic-ne Discussion

In what way?

Something to do with Bitstream vs PCM
Had to change Settings on Samsung TV for playback.
Apparently force of Habit compensated for this

Issue with 21.2 NE nightly 20250412 build, during Youtube 4K playback. (Youtube addon ver: 7.2.0 beta 8)

OSD issue

As you can see on the photo, OSD is not placed on full screen, but only 1/4 of the screen, on the up left corner.
Confluence skin, but also tried with default Estuary skin, and other Youtube addons.
During 1080p playback, OSD is OK.

Is there any solution for this?

Use newest CE-NO nightly as it’s solved there.
After install enable or disable again GUI scaling and renew your video calibration.
Best to start with 1080p First.

Thanks, but I do not prefer to use CE-NO at this time.
Do you know what is the latest NE nightly in which 4K GUI is working perfectly?

Your problem then and no.

You can try this.

The moment it starts skipping frames you can press backward and it will probably stop skipping frames too.

Or You can use this extension to go back 1 second every time you pause.

Hi!
Thanks to the answer.
I’m sorry, I think you misunderstood.
On the S905x3, the 64-bit omega is not, but the 32-bit omega ng. (S905x3 does not work Omega 64 bit)
I just wrote that it is good to see that there is no problem with the settings and not with my system (TV, amplifier, cable, etc.)
And just to make the picture clean (not explanation, I just write that you don’t have to start with basics). I install a lot of CE, change Android, and started with XBMC. I test a lot of devices, etc. etc., I did not start installing systems today.
That is why I dared to indicate that there is a mistake in Omega 64 bit and comes out on many devices.
No matter what and how to set it, no matter what an amplifier, no matter what kind of cable, no matter what kind of TV. The error is there unfortunately.
It is resolved with a reboot.

It works well with CE NO. In fact, Nexus works well.
Unfortunately CE NO has no wifi in the VontarX4 and much more is not final (but it will be the best it seems)

Thanks for your tip.
I added this line to the advancedsettings.xml, but it seems the issue is still there.
After reboot it is good for a while, but then stuttering comes again.
However, It seems that issue is solved by downgrading back to 20.5 Nexus.
So I think, it is issue with Omega.
Stuttering only comes with PM4K, issue is still there if I change to PKC with internal Kodi player. However after reboot if I first start with PKC, then OK.
If I start with PM4K, stuttering begins, no matter if I change back to PKC…

Yes, I’ve suffered a lot with this, lol. The only 100% stable version that works on the Tox3 S905X4 is 20241210 from the nightly CE NE 22. Which has no stuttering, etc. when using the advanced settings I sent. It must be because of the new fronttobackrendering and geometryclear settings that only work on Kodi 22 and were favorable for not stuttering when turning off algorithmdirtyregions in Kodi. The latest nightly of CE Omega 21.2 is stutter-free without having to mess with the advanced settings, but if you watch content that has subtitles, stuttering happens when the subtitles appear and disappear from the screen.

How do you turn it off in PM4K? Is it possible to turn it off only in PM4K?
Which CE are you using now? You still have to use algorithmdirtyregions line?
25 FPS material is also stutter free?

By disabling dirty regions, it disables the entire kodi system, I meant that we need to do this to be free of stutters when using the pm4k extension.
I already taught how to disable dirty regions, just leave it as 0 in the advancedsettings settings, I’m using CE NE 22 20241210, yes I got rid of any stuttering in any fps. You can try the latest nightly of CE 21.2 too, you don’t need to change the advanced settings, but if you watch content with subtitles you may notice stutters.

Thanks!
What is the base img.gz which you update with this .tar file?
I cannot find any base image for CE NE 22.

From evertonmdz. This is 20241220. You will need to install on sd card, add your remote.config to sd card if you use one. Try that release 1st.
Once open on Box add this Index of /Amlogic-ne/CE-22/20241210/ to Update folder .
Evertonmdz said this note to: and if he needs DTS x he has to downgrade For 20241210

Good luck… Baz

Thanks m8, really appreciate it, however in 20241210 version I cannot find Timezone country to set time correctly…

Some versions had it in CE settings I think.

Try to put a timezone that is the same as your country. Or as bazzle said in CE settings. But now we will not pollute the topic any further, the focus of this topic is CE NE 21.2. If you want to continue the conversation about CE NE 22 as it is EOL. Because CE NE 22 is no longer supported by the CE team. I recommend opening a topic at General - CoreELEC Forums
